National Coming Out Day - Happy Birthday!!

    in LGBT

On October 11th, 1988, a tradition started known as National Coming Out Day. To honor this annual event, Soul Dancer, Producer of Gay Soul Talk invites you to celebrate this day like you'd celebrate a birthday!

    Why?

Birthdays often trigger rights of passage in many cultures.  Coming out is a unique right of passage for our community.  The result(s) of coming out support societal shifts regarding marriage equality unlike other shifts related to equality.

No matter your orientation, you come out, in other ways - daily!  How?  Listen to learn more!

    Resources noted in this show:

    Harvey Milk
Soul Dancer's private, confidential, virtual (conference-call based) coming out groups.
Imagine If You Will (prose read at the end of the show)

SPIRITUALLY SPEAKING: Kill All Gay Californians? What is this world coming too?

    in Spirituality

An Orange County attorney is proposing a new law that would do just that. "The Sodomite Suppression Act" would allow for executions of men and women who are identified as gay. And punish those who encourage gay behavior with major fines and jail time. CA Attorney General Kamala Harris has said she probably would have to allow it on the ballot if it meets the basic requirements - but that the idea is unconstitutional anyway, and has no place in reality.
