On October 11th, 1988, a tradition started known as National Coming Out Day. To honor this annual event, Soul Dancer, Producer of Gay Soul Talk invites you to celebrate this day like you'd celebrate a birthday!
Birthdays often trigger rights of passage in many cultures. Coming out is a unique right of passage for our community. The result(s) of coming out support societal shifts regarding marriage equality unlike other shifts related to equality.

"Judge John E. Jones III, a federal judge in Pennsylvania on Tuesday declared the state’s ban on same-sex marriage to be unconstitutional.
Pennsylvania is the last of the Northeast states with a ban on same-sex marriage, and if Tuesday’s ruling is not successfully challenged, it will become the 19th state to permit gay and lesbian couples to marry.
Judge Jones did not issue a stay, writing, “By virtue of this ruling, same-sex couples who seek to marry in Pennsylvania may do so, and already married same-sex couples will be recognized as such in the Commonwealth.”
Outside City Hall in Philadelphia, several hundred people gathered to celebrate the decision, waving rainbow flags and holding up placards reading “Love Wins.” At the Register of Wills office, which issues marriage licenses, same-sex couples started to arrive shortly after the decision was announced."
Many Muslims in general - and in the state of Pennsylvania in particular - have expressed varying types of alarm and outrage upon hear the ruling handed down by the U.S. District Judge. The aim of this show is to analayze & discuss the reaction of the Muslim community and to talk about what this & other similar legislation around the country means for Muslims in this land.
Imam Na'eem Abdullah will be conducting this discussion

This evening, we have the pleasure of interviewing a young man who became an overnight sensation on social media after a video in which he appeared, went viral. Unless you live on the moon, you have heard of Andrew Chad Caldwell, the man who, while at a convocation this past November proclaimed, "I'm Not Gay No More. I'm Delivered".
Join us as we delve into Andrew's world since appearing in the now infamous video. He has been judged, ridiculed, threatened (by Christians and non-Christians), and has reportedly been physically attacked since his declaration that he is no longer gay.
