The Frat House Sports Show #193

    in Sports

While it might have felt like a “slow” sports week to you, there’s NEVER anything slow here at Frat House Sports and they’ve got a packed two hour program here to prove it!

The Frat House Sports Gang are joined right at the top of the show by Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia’s John Boruk to give us some insight into the Philadelphia Flyers unknown new coach, Dave Hakstol. Can this NHL newcomer take the team some place they haven’t been in 40-years?

NFL owners and “The Commish” Roger Goodell got together for a few days in San Francisco, and suddenly New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft is talking contrite. What happened there? PAT’s; games in Mexico and Germany; Los Angeles is a given; Mark Davis would have made daddy proud; are just a few things on our agenda.

The NHL playoffs are down to the Conference Finals and things have gotten interesting a dicey for a few. We’ve got hockey aficionado and sports author Russ Cohen to help us analyze the now desperate New York Rangers; the eye-popping contract Toronto Maple Leafs contract with Mike Babcock; and, other NHL chatter.

They wrap it all up with a bit more pro and collegiate football nonsense.

THIS is one packed program . . . which will also be including you and YOUR calls at 347 – 826 – 9964!

BRING IT . . . and bring your best to “The Frat House Gang” – Frat House Mike, Uncle Mark, Sidekick, and Brandon!

The Frat House Sports Show #188

    in Sports

    Whewwww . . . WHAT A WEEK . . . what a Masters Tournament!

The Frat House Sports Gang can’t get away from Jordan Spieth and helping aid his hype . . . oh . . . is it hype? How about Aaron Hernandez? Did his defense just help his HYPE? We’re talking about BOTH on the front end.

Make no mistake though . . . with the NHL playoffs dropping the puck, we’ve got a heavy hockey flavor tonight beginning with . . .

. . . WOW we’re thrilled to be joined by John Boruk, Philadelphia Flyers analyst and anchor over at Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia chatting about the state of that team playing golf and the rest of the league still in the playoffs.

. . . AND, with a bit of help we all get to take a look at our NHL playoff bracket with guest Patt Leggs of NHLNFA.com – always one of our favorite hockey analysts!

Believe it or not, if we still have any time we might get into a few MLB and NFL stories as well!

As usual, we’ve got one fast-moving program taking in as much as possible . . . so be sure to jump in with “The Frat House Gang” – Frat House Mike, Uncle Mark, Sidekick, and Brandon – by bringing your talk as well to 347 – 826 – 9964!

Money, Power and Respect: The Fight For A Seat At The Media Table

    in Lifestyle

Media giant Byron Allen is making a lot of noise right now. He's gone on the offensive has he has filed a multi-billion dollar lawsuit against Comcast. Thats not whats causing the loudest chatter however. In addition to media bohemoth, Comcast, he has also included The Rev. Al Sharpton, the NAACP and the Urban League in the suit as well. His claim, is that instead of these organizations providing advocacy on this matter of ownership in media by 100% black owned companies, they are actually providing "racial cover" for the major media companies to marginalize the black community.

Now I'm not big on name calling. During some of his interviews, Byron Allen has referred to Al Sharpton, as the "cheapest negro", and said he was bought and paid for with a "chicken dinner".  Now many have been outraged by those quotes, as we should be. And that's exactly what Allen wants. The attention.

This lawsut is as much about blowing a dog whistle, as it is based in Allen making a ton of money. Join us this week on #LFCRadio as we dig deep into this topic. Our guest will be Dr. Crystal DeGregory.
