  • Getting Ready For 2015: Remember Entrepreneurship Requires Faith

    in Christianity

A lot of you are making your New Year Resolutions and are thinking about taking the leap of faith into entrepreneurship. In this espisode, I want to talk about my own next leap into entrepreneurship, my past successes and failures, and how God has used them to influenc the decisions I make now.

  • When will you elect a President like me - please - it's 4 our own good & world

    in Elections

Wherever you are, either within or outside the political spectrum, you should have doubts, disappointments and the desire to correct the mess which is our political government and its politically appointed officials & elected representatives. I am neither of those nor ever intend to be one. I wish to serve our country and you as President. Please excuse such a big statement. I know it's important statement. It's almost audacious, almost preposterous, except for you and me, if only, you can weather my broadcasts on Blog Talk Radio - not for a moment compromising your views, but expanding on what is better. Although not bigger than conventional radio, Blog Talk Radio is the only medium open to me for a presently unknown and presently insignificant person. But, imagine, for this moment and more to come, Clinton vs. Clinton in the 2016 Presidential Election: a person of the people ( not of a party ) VERSUS politics, PACs, political influence, political contributions, campaign banners, buttons and tv ads.

I am for everything better and good. I present myself without the aid of campaign financing or political endorsements. I come to you, as in the old days, by word of mouth and the ride by light of Paul Revere.

I am capable of this feat. The same may be said of you.

I am thankful for your time and consideration...

I am thankful for our country..

    bwell...

Why are Cavs Fans Acting Like Knicks Fans?

    in Basketball

Not many people expected the Cleveland Cavaliers to be sitting in fifth place in the Eastern Conference two months into the season. When you build a SuperTeam, 5th place is not where you set your sights ... and Cavs fans are grousing about it.

But when you have a new coach, two imported superstars who have to change their games, a franchise cornerstone (Kyrie Irving) who is not the franchise cornerstone anymore, there are going to be growing pains. And that is what the Cavs are experiencing now -- though they have shown flashes of dominance during their four- and eight-game winning streaks.

So the message to Cavs fans is this ... be patient. And if you need a reminder of what real patience looks like, take a look at the championship starved fans in New York, where the Knicks lead the NBA in losses in the first year of Phil Jackson's team presidency. If Jackson made one major mistake this season, it was predicting a playoff appearance for his hapless band of knuckleheads.

Those were two of the topics of discussion today in this interview with Gregg Gianotti on CBS Sports Radio. Enjoy.

Using Improv in Your VO Career? YES and… some surprises. Pt 3 of 4 - Kay Bess

    in Entertainment

In this 3rd part of my interview with Kay Bess, we have a nice discussion about improvisation and what it means to each of us as it relates to a voiceover career. It’s a really cool conversation because we both have a small revelation about what we mean by the word ‘improvisation’.

Thanks to JASON RACKOW for his fabulous and friendly audio editing of todays interview!

So we discuss the concept of ‘acting improvisation’ versus pure improvisation.  We also find hear her story of age 7 and being asked to be ‘funny’ on stage – poor thing!  We also touch on that aspect of community in VO again -  how we are all somewhat isolated and looking to connect… Some specific improv examples with a script and Kay’s quoteable line, “It’s really about keeping your mind sharp, open and willing.”  Kay also gives a shout out to Rob Paulson and his live podcast because … well listen to my show and hear about it!!

Kay Bess is an American voice actress with over 20 years experience and is the female voice of The Tennis Channel, the female imaging voice for Q107 Toronto, and narrated the insanely popular TV series The Property Brothers on HGTV, seasons 1-4. She was the female voice of DIRECTV from 2009-2013.  She's voiced hundreds of TV and radio commercials, promos and has narrated documentaries airing on HGTV, Discovery, WE, E! and Learning Channel.  www.KayBess.com, @KayBess and on FB.
