Sam Thurman, Cliff Stewart and Lisa Stewart of the Colorado exoneration firm A Just Cause, discuss what happens when the wheels of justice trample unbridled over the rights of innocent Americans.
Although the American system of justice is the most-respected worldwide, it is still a system designed, and operated, by humans, which means it's not perfect. Sam, Cliff, and Lisa will highlight ongoing struggles against "the system" to free wrongfully imprisoned people, and what happens when justice miscarries against an actually innocent person.
Our Special Guests for tonight's show are Laura Magnani of American Friends Service Committe and Professor, currently serving Provost Todd Clear at Rutgers University in Newark, NJ. They will be sharing their thoughts on ending mass incarceration in the United States.

In a man’s world, female harmonic groups have long dominated the sphere of music. The 60's era brought such greats as Diana Ross and the Supremes, and Martha and the Vandella’s. While the 70's introduced Sister Sledge, and The Pointer Sisters. Fast forward decades later, mega pop hits would be yielded by powerhouse female groups such as En Vogue, SWV, TLC, The Spice Girls and Destiny's Child.
Rewind the clock back to 1987, just when the phenomena of female groups seemed to be fading in the distance, taking center stage, in an introduction to the world are Ann Curless, Gioia Bruno and Jeanette Jurado, all comprising the # 5 Top Female Group of all time, Expose'. Their takeover would be colossal. Churning out hit after hit after hit, with favorites such as their debut single; "Come Go With Me" followed by "Point of No Return", "Let Me Be the One" and the enormous crossover ballad "Seasons Change", Expose' had soon earned their spot in the world of pop music while displaying a universal appeal which would spill over into the dance and r&b scenes.
Gioia Bruno, communal lead singer ("Let Me Be the One", "What You Don't Know") hits the Queue Up to share growth since Expose's debut, life’s offering, and upcoming group and sole ventures.
I can't wait!
Join me on Monday, November 24th for this interview, beginning at 10:30 a.m MST.
Dax Dish, Host
Yvette W. Jones talks with Hassan Latif (Founder) and Sean Ahshee Taylor (Senior Case Manager) of Second Chance Center, Inc. as they share their story and how they are helping others stay out of prison.
Hassan A. Latif is the Founder and Executive Director of Second Chance Center, Inc. As a Certified Addictions Counselor he provides one on one and group counseling services throughout the Denver Metro area. A nationally certified Cognitive Behavior Change Facilitator(NCTI), he also directs the mentoring efforts of SCC, while returning to various Colorado Department of Corrections prisons, and local community corrections/half way house facilities, to offer the same supportive services.
After serving almost 18 consecutive years in Colorado penitentiaries, Hassan embarked on a career trying to help others avoid prison. As a member of the Board of Directors of the Colorado Criminal Justice Reform Coalition, he helps to drive that organization’s mission to reverse the trend of mass incarceration in the State of Colorado.
Sean Ahshee Taylor, was born in Springfield Massachusetts but grew up primarily in Denver Colorado. In the late eighties, at the age of 17, Sean got himself into serious trouble and was sentenced to life in prison. Upon his incarceration he began a journey of bettering himself. After serving 22 years within the Department of Corrections the outgoing Governor, Bill Ritter Jr., commuted Sean’s life sentence and he was released from prison. This former Gang Banger and Lifer is now a Case Manager, Mentor and Certified Fitness Instructor for the Second Chance Center. He is making the most of his second chance while doing his best to show others how to do the same.
