We will also, if we have time, chat with a fan from the team soon to no longer be called Chivas USA. We'll be talking with Matt Doyle of MLSoccer.com, Cameron Collins of the Supporters Group @gorillafc, and Jonathan Tannenwald of Philly.com.
The Beautiful Game is a soccer podcast devoted to educating the newest fans of the world’s most popular sport. We cover the latest news in Major League Soccer, the World Cup, and we often have guests on who discuss other aspects of the international club game, be it the Premier League, Champions League, or the ongoing saga of FIFA. We believe you can understand where you are and where you are going if you understand where you came from, so we also feature interviews with soccer writers and journalists to give a broader historical perspective to current news. We will also periodically review rules and regulations so the newer listener can bring a greater context to enjoying our favorite sport.

In this episode of Soccer Saavy; presented by The Red LIght Sports Network; sponsored by Irresistable Gourmet Popcorn, Mike Murphy and Troy Otradovec tackle a very important soccer in American soccer. Club soccer has grown leaps and bounds over the years. The thing that is happening with club soccer is that players who want to play soccer in college are not playing at the High School level. So what has to happen with club soccer is that the players are now playing club soccer year round and taking away from high school participation. Fasten your seat belts and put your foot on the gas - Mike Murphy has an idea that will make you think he has been tipping the bottle.

In addition, we take a look at some of our favorite soccer websites, writers, books, movies, TV shows, and publications to help shed some light on ideal ways to continue to grow your soccer knowledge.
What's this all about? Well, towards the end of the World Cup, we invited new soccer fans to send us questions with the subject line "Primer". To date, we've received (and are continuing to receive) loads of great questions covering an incredibly wide range of topics. As such, we've done our best to divide our answers into different episodes focusing on particular subjects. Primer #1 discussed international vs club soccer, and Primer #3 will discuss all things tactics (formations, jersey numbers, why wingbacks are important, etc). So, download, enjoy, and keep the questions coming!
Join Hugh and Nicki as we talk about all things soccer. From youth soccer to the best professional teams. Nothing is safe from the discussion, including the refs, coaches, youth soccer clubs, ball kids, you name we will discuss it!
Hugh has played soccer all his life and is a liscened coach, having coached U18 and below teams.
Nicki is not the typical soccer mom. She is a liscened coach, team manager, ref and president of her local soccer club.
Join us for a fun show and be sure to call in and discuss the Beautiful Game with us!
In the first of our new Soccer Primer series, we discuss the differences between club and international football, including a look at the various non-World Cup international tournaments and the player transfer system that exists between clubs. And much much more.
What's this all about? Well, towards the end of the World Cup, we invited new soccer fans to send us quetions with the subject line: Primer. "We'll answer anything," we said. "There are no stupid questions, only Taylor's stupid answers," one of us said, off air. And the questions arrived. Then arived some more. They're actually still arriving.
So we've broken our Primer shows, in which we answer said questions, into a series. On the second Primer show, out this Monday, we'll discuss the soccer media, which TV channels are worth your money, and which you should avoid.
