It is evident that the need for self-reliance has become more important than ever as we face the growing incidence of natural, un-natural (man-made), and personal disasters. We're facing increasing losses of political, economic, financial, and personal control. Add to that the debasement of our moral values, and we're a country that's declining in goodlines, positive values, and loss of our freedom.
As our choices are removed and as our public values decline, we can see the need and propriety of preparedness and the value of determining what preparedness skills, talents, and abilities the future will demand of us and our family.
We owe it to ourselves and our families to become prepared or get better prepared--and to do it now!
The newest Edition of Making the Best of Basics has been published for THIS generation. In it, I te ach to the conclusion that it really doesn’t matter what causes the need for one to become prepared––If you are properly (adequately) prepared, you need not fear what the future may bring!

1. Swiss referendum - Articles - "Call to the Swiss" - published Friday; "the most prescient statement ever made" - publishing today, of Ferdinand Lips' 2005 prediction the SNB would be forced to buy back its gold at higher prices; and "He Doth Protest too much - the best of Thomas Jordan" (publishing tomorrow), of the incredible MSM and SNB propaganda battle against the initiative, which is clearly more likely to pass than not. 2. From the article, the "Three Death Trends," the impact of falling oil prices, collapsing currencies, and expanding currency wars 3. Pitiful U.S. economy, as characterized by negative reports in construction spending, durable goods orders, factory orders, and today's industrial production -Article - "Chasm of Destruction," regarding the largest ever gap between rigged financial markets and horrific economic data -2000 level valuations, sentiment and leverage, in both the U.S. and Europe, amidst worst economy of our lifetimes 4. MASSIVE Japan GDP miss, printing this morning at -1.6%, versus expectation of +2.2% AND MUCH MORE
-First Majestic holding back production, Silvercorp hinting at cutting production, IAG cutting staff, earnings beyond miserable as year-end reserve calculations, capex budgets, and production plans loom
It appears the need for self-reliance may be more important than ever as we face the newest problems of natural disasters such as weather-related conditions, and people-caused disasters such as the collapsing economy, corruption of the political system, destruction of personal health and wealth, job loss, divorce, death in the family, accidents, and so on which make prepping a valuable skill.
The new 11th Edition of Making the Best of Basics has been published for THIS generation, and I have come to the conclusion that it really doesn’t matter what causes the need––If you are prepared, you need not fear! James Talmage Stevens (a.k.a. Doctor Prepper)

Once again, Dennis, Jeff and Susan discuss the probability that there is Life, beyond Earth, in the Universe. Just think how long our universe existed. It started, with the Big Bang, about 14 billion years ago. Now compare that number to how young human beings are on our planet, the Earth. How smart were we 2,000 years ago? Or 6,000 years before Christ (B.C.)?
Astronomer Bob Berman confirmed that our Milky Way Galaxy contains 400 billion stars, including our own star, the Sun. NASA is now able to detect the other planets, like this planet Earth, revolving around those other stars. Remember when we learned "there are 9 planets" in our solar system? Now we're told "8 planets" because, if you include #9 (Pluto), you'll have to add many more planets (like Pluto) which are further out there revolving around our star, the Sun.
Furthermore, our Milky Way Galaxy is one of a hundred billion galaxies.
The laws of probability suggest there is Life, beyond Earth, in the Universe.

The year is 3032 and mankind has expanded far beyond Earth’s galaxy. Matilda Dulac is a member of the Galactic Mining Guild. With her lover, Marc Slatterly, she works in a small mining ship in deep space. Their well ordered life if suddenly thrown into chaos when one miner arrives with a load of Trimagnite, a highly toxic liquid ore. Enter the Lone Wolf. Wil VanLipsig, known as the Lone Wolf, arrives to take the Trigmagnite off their hands. Is it a coincidence for him to show up on Marc’s ship years after Marc thought he’d killed Wil? Or is this the beginning of something far more insidious?
Beginning where Lone Wolf left off, Wil VanLipsig and Matilda Dulac continue their epic sci-fi adventure. John Riley is gone. He disappeared using an ancient transportation device. They hope he's dead, but can't count on it. He's far too dangerous.
They trek across the galaxy, venturing further into deep space. They arrive at a long forgotten planet–Shakazhan.
