White Girl Bleed A Lot - Colin Flaherty

    in Politics Conservative

Racial tension and violence in the Black community is at an all time high.  People of all races are scared and also tired of not feeling safe in their own neighborhoods.  Recent acts of violence, riots, and murders have set us all on edge.

Today I am honored to have as my guest Colin Flaherty.

Colin Flaherty is an award winning reporter and author of the #1 best selling book White Girl Bleed a Lot: The Return of Racial Violence to America and How the Media Ignore it.

His new book is Knockout Game a Lie? Aww, Hell No.

Both books are about black mob violence, black on white crime and the Knockout Game.

His  work has appeared in more than 1000 news sites around the world, including the New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Time Magazine.  His story about how a black man was unjustly convicted of trying to kill his white girlfriend resulted in his release from state prison and was featured on Court TV, NPR, The Los Angeles Times and San Diego Union-Tribune.

Thomas Sowell: ”Reading Colin Flaherty’s book made painfully clear to me that the magnitude of this problem is greater than I had discovered from my own research. He documents both the race riots and the media and political evasions in dozens of cities.” – National Review.

Sean Hannity: White Girl Bleed a Lot  “has gone viral.”

Allen West: “At least author Colin Flaherty is tackling this issue (of racial violence and black on white crime) in his new book, White Girl Bleed a Lot: The Return of Racial Violence to America and How the Media Ignore it.“

Los Angeles Times: “a favorite of conservative voices.”

Jim Salmon of Navy Federal Credit Union is guest on Small Business Week

    in Lifestyle

Every year since 1963, the President of the United States has issued a proclamation announcing National Small Business Week, which recognizes the critical contributions of America's entrepreneurs and small business owners. More than half of Americans either own or work for a small business, and they create about two out of every three new jobs in the U.S. each year.

LIfe Lessons kicks off National Small Business Week with Jim Salmon, the head of Business Lending at Navy Federal Credit Union. Salmon shres how to start and grow a business, and he'll share information about programs designed to help military veterans run a successful business. A military veteran himself, Salmon will also discuss why it's good business to support veteran-owned and operated businesses and how veterans have many of the skills necessary to run a successful business.

We hear a lot about helping our brave veterans, but the sad fact is that despite an improving economy, many have difficulty finding employment after leaving the military. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), young male veterans, ages 18 to 24, who served during the Gulf War II era, including those who have served at any time since September 2001, had an unemployment rate of 21.9%(more than double the national average).

Colin Barrett, Jonathan Odell & Susan Wilson

    in Books

On this episode, we'll highlight and give away two novels and a short story collection written by three acclaimed authors:

Colin Barrett on Young Skins. A multi-award-winning debut short story collection set in the fictional, rural town of Glanbeigh, Ireland--a desolate spot where buffoonery and tension simmer and erupt, and booze-sodden boredom fills the corners of every pub and nightclub.
Jonathan Odell on Miss Hazel and the Rosa Parks League. Inspired by Odell's childhood in pre-Civil Rights Mississippi, two young mothers--one wealthy and white and the other poor and black--have only two things in common: the devastating loss of their children, and a deep and abiding loathing for one another. As their relationship and beliefs grow, so does an unexpected friendship.
Susan Wilson on The Dog Who Saved Me. After his faithful canine partner is killed in the line of duty, Officer Cooper Harrison finds himself jobless, on the verge of divorce and in a self-destructive rut. Then he becomes an animal control officer back in his hometown, where he works to rescue a wounded and gun-shy yellow Lab gone feral.

    Celebrity Interview - Colin Gerrard

    in Entertainment

This interview has been a long time in the making. My first introduction to Colin Gerrard was during my tenor as a film festival judge for the Studio City Film Festival. He had submitted an eight minute plus film entitled I Know You. I was spellbound by his ability to take such a simplistic concept and turn it into a short cinematic jewel. The film is clever yet simplistic in purpose - one individual can go from being a nobody to a somebody in a matter of moments. It is all about perception and sometimes deception. Colin is the writer, producer and director of this fine film. I am excited to reveal Colin and his many layers of genius.
