    FLI Welcomes Colin Flaherty

    in Politics Conservative

Colin Flaherty of "White Girl Bleed Alot" is a noted Author, Blogger, and Appriser as to what has gone grieviously wrong in the United States in terms of race relations. Since Obama was elected, the polarization has grown virtually exponetially, despite promises that his "coronation" would bring everybody of all races together to share a Coke.

Get the scoop with investigative journalist Colin Flaherty

    in Lifestyle

Monday October 6th, 2014     8 PM PST  9 PM MST  10 PM CST  11 PM EST

Join in the conversation as I chat with author Colin Flaherty.  Many people regard him as "Public Enemy Number 1" since he began researching and discussing the culture of black violence, particularly the ideologies popular rap music idolizes and promotes.  Listen in and form your own opinion.  Front Page Magazine describes Mr. Flaherty's latest book White Girl Bleed A Lot as "an important entry into the debate over whether black racial violence exists and whether it should be reported on. While the debate continues, the book breaks through the barriers of censorship and transcends the anecdotal for a raw snapshot of cities under siege and a nation in denial.”

It cannot be argued that there has, in recent times, been a surge of black mob violence, black on black crime and black on white crime that is often under reported or not reported at all in mainstream media.  (Just look at the heinous murder of Channon Christianson in Tennessee a few years back).  This is alarming and we should be concerned.  At what point do we say enough is enough?  African Americans want to be treated with dignity and respect, just like everyone else.  But is the mob violence some engage in hurting the cause?  Are blacks perpetuating the sterotypes through violence, vengeful behavior, "thug" mentality, dress, speech, mannerisms and lifestyle?  Could it be more beneficial to be civic minded and peaceful?  Is it possible to do so?  Call in and join the conversation.  We want to hear from you!  Call 646.929.0468

The ANDREA SHEA KING Show - Colin Flaherty

    in Politics Conservative

Colin Flaherty is author of the book "White Girl Bleed A Lot: The Return of Racial Violence to America and How the Media Ignore It."

Tonight we'll talk to him about the so-called "knock out game".

Dangerous "knockout" attacks on strangers are leading to arrests, more officers flooding the streets and more warnings for vigilance by an unsuspecting public.

Perpetrators have dubbed the violent practice as the "knockout game," in which young people try to randomly knock out strangers with one punch.

Recent attacks in New York, New Haven, Conn., Washington, D.C. and suburban Philadelphia have raised concerns across the country. The violence is not new, though. In 2011, St. Louis had a rash of similar incidents, one of which led to the death of a Vietnamese immigrant.

Some of the assaults are recorded and posted on social media by the attackers.

Colin Flaherty joins us with his take on these so-called knock out games.

Colin Barrett, Jonathan Odell & Susan Wilson

    in Books

On this episode, we'll highlight and give away two novels and a short story collection written by three acclaimed authors:

Colin Barrett on Young Skins. A multi-award-winning debut short story collection set in the fictional, rural town of Glanbeigh, Ireland--a desolate spot where buffoonery and tension simmer and erupt, and booze-sodden boredom fills the corners of every pub and nightclub.
Jonathan Odell on Miss Hazel and the Rosa Parks League. Inspired by Odell's childhood in pre-Civil Rights Mississippi, two young mothers--one wealthy and white and the other poor and black--have only two things in common: the devastating loss of their children, and a deep and abiding loathing for one another. As their relationship and beliefs grow, so does an unexpected friendship.
Susan Wilson on The Dog Who Saved Me. After his faithful canine partner is killed in the line of duty, Officer Cooper Harrison finds himself jobless, on the verge of divorce and in a self-destructive rut. Then he becomes an animal control officer back in his hometown, where he works to rescue a wounded and gun-shy yellow Lab gone feral.

    Celebrity Interview - Colin Gerrard

    in Entertainment

This interview has been a long time in the making. My first introduction to Colin Gerrard was during my tenor as a film festival judge for the Studio City Film Festival. He had submitted an eight minute plus film entitled I Know You. I was spellbound by his ability to take such a simplistic concept and turn it into a short cinematic jewel. The film is clever yet simplistic in purpose - one individual can go from being a nobody to a somebody in a matter of moments. It is all about perception and sometimes deception. Colin is the writer, producer and director of this fine film. I am excited to reveal Colin and his many layers of genius.
