ASSAULT ON WHISTLEBLOWERS WITH COLEEN ROWLEY

    in Politics

In the wake of 9/11, America has beome a surveillance society. Americans seem largely willing to continue to give up their freedoms for the illusion of security from a terrorist menace of their own government's creation. This would not have happened if they knew the truth behind 9/11 and all that has followed.

Standing between the government and the People are the whistleblowers who have worked in government and who risk their careers, freedom and even their lives to get the truth out and hold government responsible for its actions.

On December 8 our guest was  Coleen Rowley, FBI whistleblower and dedicated antiwar activist. We talked about the role of government whistleblowers in assuring the survival of the dream of democracy in America, and the efforts by those in control of the US government to prevent that at any costs.

Bradley Manning is an American hero, as is Daniel Elsberg and countless men and women most Americans have never heard of. If they are to protect us, we must demand that they be protected. Otherwise, our children will continue to be sacrificed for corporate Empire and we will lose the chance to even know democracy in America or the world.

MyNDTALK with DR. Pamela Brewer-Whistleblower-Coleen Rowley

    in Psychology

Coleen Rowley, a former FBI agent and whistleblower.  "In May of 2002, Ms. Rowley brought several of the pre 9/11 lapses to light and testified to the Senate Judiciary Committee on some of the endemic problems facing the FBI and the intelligence community. Ms. Rowley's memo to FBI Director Robert Mueller in connection with the Joint Intelligence Committee's Inquiry led to a two-year-long Department of Justice Inspector General investigation. She was one of three whistleblowers chosen as Person of the Year by TIME magazine."

DRONES OVER AMERICA WITH COLEEN ROWLEY

    in Politics

Polls show that a great majority of Americans support the drone warfare policy of the United States that is transforming the nature of modern warfare. There is such a consensus on the issue that Governor Romney and President Obama agreed with a policy that has been labelled illegal, immoral and ineffective by many.

What most Americans do not appreciate is the fact that the number of drones flying over the US has grown at an alarming rate. Although unmanned planes can serve a good purpose in spotting forest fires, rescue operations and other situations, they are starting to be used for surveillance operations by federal, state and local law enforcement, to the concern of libertarians and other civil rights watchdogs.

Of particular concern is the fact that some law enforcement officials intend to use armed drones to carry out their work, raising the specter of bringing the drone war home to the US

On November 26 our guest on Taking Back America was FBI whistleblower and antiwar activist Coleen Rowley. She gave us an update on the latest information about the use of drones in America and the world, and what we cand do to oppose it.

This show will be rebroadcast on Saturday, December 8 at 12 PM CST on Star Com Radio network.

SECRECY AND LIES WITH COLEEN ROWLEY

    in Politics

On Saturday, January 21 our guest was noted  FBI whistleblower and anntiwar activist Coleen Rowley. We discussed a number of timely topics that can help us teach others how the dots connect between the various problems threatening human civilization.

Listen and learn about the overt and covert actions the US government is taking to defend the status quo against the growing resistance to fascism and America embodied in the Occupy and abolition of corporate personhood movements.

Government transparency is an essential element of any democracy. Until we have a full accounting of the crimes against the American people committed by those in power, democracy is not possible. Only a public educated about how fascism arose in America can rise together to fight it. The death of fascism is the key to world peace, the ultimate goal of Soldiers For Peace International.

Whistleblowers are back in the news with the revelations of NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden and the opening of Bradley Manning's trial. There are many others trying to break through the wall of government silence to tell Americans why they should be uniting to take back America for the People but who for the most part are ignored by the corporate media. It is our job to help get the stories they risk their careers, freedom and sometimes lives to get out. On June 15, FBI whistleblower Coleen Rowley and CIA whistleblower Susan Lindauer discussed the latest news about the fight to get out the truth, the manner in which the Empire is striking back and what we can do to help see that their sacrifices are not in vain.Know the truth and the truth will set us free.Subscribe to automatic reminders and descriptions of this and future shows by hitting the "follow" button on our home page.

BUILDING CHILDRENS’ CHARACTER THROUGH BOOKS -DAPO AKERS AND COLEEN LIEBSCH

    in Culture

ENVISION THIS: You can promote literacy, character building, and your business all in one move by sponsoring "Books for Kids" right in your neighborhood.

Our guest, Dapo Akers is author of Robin From the Hood. He is one of the authors who writes for Books for Kids, a free book giveaway program run by Performance Strategies Publishing. You can partner with them! Coleen Liebsch of PS Publishing is also with us.  She says, “Rather than "sponsoring" books in the traditional sense, our partners purchase a $4.50 advertisement in the form of a full-color sticker inside the front cover of a Books for Kids book.  The sticker will say "This Book Is A Gift From:" then prominently feature your company's logo and contact information.”

Dapo, whom we first met through his community building Feel the Ville rap on You-Tube, writes for adolescents.   His Robin From the Hood series deals with the tragic and dehumanizing underworld tales of “hoods” ruled by drug lords and corruption. This Robin, like the familiar folk hero, has a philanthropic mission to rescue his community from doom.

Other authors in the PS Publishing lineup write for kids of other age and interest levels. Coleen represents this ambitious project to get books that build character into the hands of kids and create a community bond with the local businesses that sponsor those books.
