SORT BY Relevancy
This highly energetic and fun band formed in 2009. Although each member of the band draws from his personal influences, it could be said that one can hear influences of Jameroquai, Level 42, Tower of Power and Brian Colbertson. Tight horn lines, funky drum and bass grooves and smooth vocals are all trademarks of coldjack's sound.
Although a completely Canadian band, the lead singer, John Fraser, is originally from London, England where he was front man for the original "Cold Jack" band that dismantled in the 90s. While in London he played the musical circuit including a gig at the famous London Rock Garden and the Mean Fiddler. His previous band had extensive airplay on U.K. radio stations.
The other members of the band are all professional musicians who have played in a large array of Central Ontario bands. It wasn't until they came together to form coldjack that they knew they truly had something special.

Incredible originals and unique covers featuring the perfect blend of smooth jazz, R & B, and pop, spiced with amazing grooves, and peppered with emotional, yet powerful vocals, Coldjack is making waves in the music scene, being played on a myriad of radio stations, including world-wide Smoothjazz.com Global, Wave FM in Canada and the U.S. and various other sundry stations. Fresh and unique, their sound is all their own, however, influences of Level 42, Steely Dan, Kenny Thomas and Boz Scaggs can be detected by the discerning listener. Lead singer, John Fraser is strongly influenced by Brian Culbertson for his musicianship, song writing and fantastic live performances. One of John's ambitions is to one day play with Brian or be a part of one of his amazing Jazz Festivals.
