Tracey Birdsall- Award-winning Model and Actress

    in Entertainment

    Tracey Birdsall

    Award-winning Model and actress

One of the most beautiful and talented actresses in the world, Tracey Birdsall (FAMILY TIES, DAWN OF THE CRESCENT MOON, LOVING) is doing press this month.

Birdsall, known for both her modeling work and for playing Amy Sanders on the classic soap LOVING, has become a major force in independent film. She walked away with the Maverick award in 2014 for her performance in the new thriller DAWN OF THE CRESCENT MOON.

A model during her Malibu teen years, Birdsall was one of only 10 finalists nationwide to make it into the prestigious Wilhelmina “40+” modeling/runaway competition in recent times. “I grew up modeling and doing print work,” Birdsall-Smith said. “Then you hit your mid-to-late twenties and you think your career is over.”

As a teen, she won the Miss Teeny Bikini title and appeared in commercials for Sunkist and Coors Light, while performing in plays in the meantime.

Birdsall is available to talk about her long career in front of the camera – making the transition from modeling to acting, working on classics like Family Ties with Michael J.Fox, and some of her new films, including Dawn of the Crescent Moon, the family comedy The Grounded, and the upcoming science-fiction film Death Machine, in which she voices the role of a HAL-like computer.

The Day In The Life Of A Plus Size Model... I Am Model Essence

    in Lifestyle

    The Fashion of Passion

I saw a girl whose legs were spangled, They were so long that they easily tangled. And when she wore her high heeled shoes, She was a package no man could refuse. Because when she walked she started to sway, And set things in motion just the right way. Lines of young men will stare as she passes, Hoping for a smile or a bat of her lashes. But the beautiful girl can’t stop to flirt, Because her shoes make her feet hurt. And all she wants is to walk in bare feet, So when each day ended she’d always retreat. Off came her shoes when she entered the door. Because of the pain that she couldn’t ignore. She’d rub her feet with a smile on her face, Remembering how well she’d run the day’s race. The look in their eyes gave her great satisfaction, She’d received the rewards of each man’s reaction. Alone in her room she’d sit with her prize, Her two feet swollen to the next larger size. I’m not sure which ones are more confused, The girl herself or the men that she’d used, To me it seems that she’s playing a game, And when she wins it she’s alone and lame. I don’t really get just why she’d play, What dividends can it possibly pay? I guess it depends on defining your passion, And I’ve never been one to understand fashion.

57 - Toy Designs & Model Making with Marco Kunardi

    in Entertainment

It's that thing we all have thought of at least once, to make your very own toy. Draw your own action figure design and have it brought to life. Hold it in your own hand and know that it's all you. You thought it up, now it's real! Well, Marco made that dream a reality! He teamed up with a buddy at Glitch and made this a thing! Learn all about how he illustrates a character and his partner in crime fashions them into an awesome super-detailed action figure-doll with real clothes, custom-foam-fittings inside a spiffy box that features the original designs on the cover box art! It's a helluva thing ... and Marco is gonna tell us all about it!

We also thought we'd talk about another passion ... models! Namely, the robot-kind. Gundam, Patlaobor, that sort. It's a hands-on episode we think you'll enjoy for sure! Bust out the paint and glue, we're gonna get crafty! ... but don't snort that glue, it would be bad ... plus, the glue would seal your nostril shut and breathing through your nose would be a problem. ;)

Check out this site as well! More detailed descriptions and illustrations of the characters Marco worked on ...

Show 39: Update from Cohort 92

    in Education

In January, 2014, John welcomed two students from Cohort 92, which at that time was the newest cohort that had begun the MSOL program. The idea was to have those students check in every six months or so to share with listeners how the program is going, what they are learning and any other insights they may have to share. Today John is joined by one of the students from that first show, John Merola, along with two new students who will be first time guests - Steve Creps and Danelle Bunney. Listen in to hear firsthand reports of how the program is impacting their lives and what they are learning.
