As the son of WWE Hall of Famer the “American Dream” Dusty Rhodes, Cody Rhodes grew up admiring his father and watching him capture the imagination of wrestling fans worldwide. Now Cody is ready to carry on his father’s legacy while carving out one of his own in WWE. Cody's road to success started when he teamed with Hardcore Holly, as the two captured the World Tag Team Championship in 2007.
Besides being the son of “the son of a plumber,” Cody seems like he was destined for the squared circle. He had a stellar high school wrestling career, winning major tournaments before signing a deal with Ohio Valley Wrestling, WWE’s developmental territory. While training for his debut on the big stage, Cody was honored when his father asked him to help induct him into the WWE Hall of Fame. It was highly emotional night for father and son, who are extremely close.
“He and I, we’re like best friends, we’re really close,” Cody told WWE.com at the time. “So for us to be together – if ultimately he were to say, ‘I don’t want anything further to do with sports entertainment,’ this would be a wonderful way to cap it off.”
Now, with his father watching on, Cody Rhodes is thrilled to have an opportunity in WWE and show our fans that the legacy of the Dream lives on.

It's that midweek time which means Sean, Steve and Katie are ready to spend another two hours with you and the wrestlers you may or may not know, but we guarantee you that you will be informed as well as entertained.
First off we will have joining us "Rockin'" Randy Rhodes. Randy is a Floridian who has been around the business for many years. He was an enhancement talent for 1980s WWF, where he worked a number of name stars, including a just starting Undertaker. His circle includes Bob "Blackjack Mulligan" Windham and Dirty Dick Slater and Joel Deaton among others. We are pleased to present Randy to our audience.
We have said our motto is "We Embrace Controversy" and in our second (and possibly third) hour we will most definately embrace controversy. Two different wrestling promotions in the Midwest are being called out, each for something different. In one promotion, a couple of fundraisers that one promotion ran are now rife with accusations that the money did not go to the causes it was intended for. Also, at a show in Minnesota, a manager chose the WRONG way to get heat on himself. We will discuss that as well.
Comments and questions, which will be screened for content, and allowed based on time will be taken via our chat, through Skype or via phone at (347) 826-9418. Due to the very real possibility of us going over we encourage our listeners to call or Skype early in the show to avoid missing show content after 12:00 Eastern.
Hi everyone, and welcome to another episode of Weekdays with Murph! Today we'll discuss this week's worth of GH and anything new that's happening off screen/behind the scenes. Of course, I couldn't do this without my co-host, work husband, and pain in my rear end, Cody. We have a special guest joining us, and you may know him from his daily GH recaps on youtube, Davon Brown. Let's get started!
Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) drop in on Jody Mills (guest star Kim Rhodes), Claire (guest star Kathryn Newton) and Alex (guest star Katherine Ramdine) after receiving a panicked phone call from Claire. She believes the recent murders in town are supernatural and wants the boys’ help. However, Sheriff Mills tells Sam and Dean that Claire has been getting into trouble lately as she’s been attacking normal people and accusing them of being monsters. Stefan Pleszczynski directed the episode written by Nancy Won (#1112).
On this episode of Talking in Circles we break down the Tony Stewart situation and what it means for his retirement tour and we discuss who we think will take over the No. 14 Chevrolet for the begining of the season and why. We also talk about the impact it will have on NASCAR and the Daytona 500.
Also, Michael Waltrip will race for BK Racing in the No. 83 Toyota with Maxwell House as sponsor. We discuss that move and potentially a fourth BK Racing car at Daytona as well.
Also Premium Motorsports has hired Cole Whitt to drive the team's No. 98 entry for the entire 2016 season. Whitt will be on his fourth team in three years.
Kyle Larson just met his crew chief last week. We discuss whether or not that means anything for the 2016 season.
It was announced today that Matt Tifft will drive for JGR in 13 NASCAR XFINITY Series races in 2016. We'll talk about how we think he'll do.
BJ McLeod Motorsports will run a two car operation for the 2016 season with the owner driving the No. 78 Ford Mustang. The team will have a variety of drivers in the No. 99 Ford Mustang, running full-time. We'll discuss that plus Harrison Rhodes moving to Obaika Racing and that organization having a two car team.
On the truck series side of things Cameron Hayley joins a four truck effort at ThorSport Racing for 2016 and Parker Kligerman will run Daytona for RBR Enterprises and Jordan Anderson will run full-time.
Plus we still have no idea if the franchising deal will be in place for Daytona or not.
It's going to be a jammed packed 1 hour show and we take your calls at 917-889-8280.
