    Climate Heretic

    in Environment

    Judith Curry, PhD.

Dr. Curry is a professor and former Chair of the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the Georgia Institute of Technology, and President (co-owner) of Climate Forecast Applications Network (CFAN). She has been known for her work on hurricanes, Arctic ice dynamics and other climate-related topics. But over the past year or so she has become better known for something that annoys, even infuriates, many of her scientific colleagues. According to one article in Scientific American, Curry has been engaging actively with the climate change skeptic community, largely by participating on outsider blogs such as Climate Audit, the Air Vent and the Blackboard. Why a climate heretic? Because she has come to question the way climatologists react to those who question the science. She thinks there's a lot of "crankology" out there. She is all about not lumping in the good with the bad and wants us to think - not tell us what to think! This show sponsored by The Fairfax Companies.

Climate Change - Time for a Change

    in Spirituality

Join Sharon Rainbow Eagle Bar-Or and Jim Graywolf - Eaglewolf - on Healing Mirror Holders Radio for a powerful webcast on Sunday, May 10th at 1 PM MST, 3 PM EST, 8 PM London and 10 PM Israel time.

We will be discussing more aspects of our natural world and the effects of climate change on them and the generations who will follow us.

This show not only will speak to your own health and well-being, but the health of your children and their children and beyond. If you think it is too late to act - be ready to be wrong. If you think we don’t need to act now - be ready to consider this further as well.

While things seems bleak with all the negative changes in our world due to human caused climate change, there are also many positive things occurring. Come speak with us as we speak of both - and also the ways we can make a difference now. Let’s explore the science of this critical issue, the history of it, the energy of it and the spiritual nature of it.

And so, we invite you to look deeper this time, along with the Spirit Twins – Sharon & Jim and connect with the Earth Mother and feel what she is telling us about these changes.

    Climate Action with Russell Greene

    in Politics Progressive

Russell is joined by activist, author, speaker, Ted Glick.

Ted Glick has devoted over 45 years of his life to the progressive social change movement. After a year of student activism as a sophomore at Grinnell College in Iowa, he left college in 1969 to work full time against the Vietnam War. As a Selective Service draft resister, he spent 11 months in prison.

For the last ten years Ted has played a national leadership role in the effort to stabilize our climate and for a renewable energy revolution. He was a co-founder in 2004 of the Climate Crisis Coalition and in 2005 coordinated the USA Join the World effort leading up to December 3rd actions during the United Nations Climate Change conference in Montreal.

Since the mid-70s, Ted has been actively involved in community organizing efforts around environmental, tenant rights, community development and racial justice issues in Brooklyn, N.Y. and northern New Jersey. On a national scale he has been a leader in coalition-building and independent politics efforts. From 1995 to 2005, he was the National Coordinator of the Independent Progressive Politics Network, with which he continues to work. He is the coordinator of the Essex/Passaic Green Party.

Over the years, Ted’s commitment to social justice has led him to partake in 20 extended fasts, six of which were for more than a month, including the Climate Emergency Fast in the fall of 2007 and two fasts in 2009.

His prolific writing on the movement to which he devotes his life includes his 2000 book, “Future Hope: A Winning Strategy for a Just Society,” and his column, “Future Hope,” which has been distributed nationally since 2000. In late 2009 he finished a book manuscript, “Love Refuses to Quit: Climate Change and Social Change in the 21st Century.”
