Frat House Sports' Clean-Up Hitters #29

    in Sports

With just six games remaining in the MLB regular season we should be talking about all of the possible playoff scenarios, but Frat House Mike, Nik Swartz, & Nick are talking about Jonathan Papelbon and Bryce Harper. Surprisingly many around the league are backing Papelbon. Is Bryce Harper that polarizing? Did Harper have it coming, and will Jonathan Papelbon ever pitch for another team again?

So far only the New York Mets have clinched their division. The Pittsburgh Pirates can still mathematically win the NL Central over the St. Louis Cardinals, but it’s not likely, right? And, it’s just a matter of time for the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Chicago Cubs have guaranteed a post-season appearance for the first time in seven seasons.

The AL continues to be the most compelling. The Kansas City Royals have clinched the AL Central and the Toronto Blue Jays are guaranteed the playoffs, but that’s all we know for sure!

Always controversial Bobby Valentine says PED’s are good for sports and eventually will be permitted. Seriously Bobby?

The Clean-Up Hitters of Frat House Sports are checking the Power Rankings; updating their Series Streak Challenge from last week and starting a new one for this weekend; and, taking your calls. You do NOT want to miss this show, OR the chance to call in and talk with the guys about your team, at: 347 – 826 – 9964. Head home to the 'house' from 7:00 – 8:30 pm ET!

Coming Clean After Holding Secrets: True Confessions Part 2

    in Education

How would you go about telling a truth, after concealing a lie?  What if it exposed, what would you do or say...

Tell another lie to cover up the other, or fess up that you did it?

What Secret should you tell: Before they find out?

    I've cheated on you
    I live a double life
I got other children on the side
I'm pregnant and I don't know if it is yours
I have Aids, Hepititus or Herpes
I have an addiction...explain to what
I have mental and emotional issues
My family has mental and/physical impariments in our genes

When should you tell a Secret?

After 3 months of getting to know the basics about someone?
    Right away?
    After you have sex?
    Over candle light and dinner
    All of the above?

Who should know about your secret and can you trust them?

Whatever it is, what is the COSTof coming clean?  What if you kept a secret for a friend, what is the COST for doing it, what is the COST for telling it...what is the CONSEQUENCES? How would one act on something like this:

No longer can you be trusted?
God will bless you for not standing in an EVIL thing?
Using the method that love COVERS the mulitude of sins?
lose family members, relationships, and friendships for doing the right thing.??

Use PRUDENCE and JUDGEMENT before you tell anything that will damage your reputation, loyalty, or integrity.  Decide if the person is trustworthy to handle your secret with care, supplication in prayer, and come to a mutual understanding if this is something you want in your life..

Give a person a chance to make an EDUCATED DECISION about being withyou!

Frat House Sports' Clean-Up Hitters #27

    in Sports

Less than 20 games remaining in the regular MLB season and the Clean-Up Hitters of Frat House Sports, are examining every single possible playoff scenario.

We pretty much know where the NL is going, but the storylines over the AL are tremendously compelling with the Toronto Blue Jays and New York Yankees and the Texas Rangers, Houston Astros and Minnesota Twins. Frat House Mike, Nik Swartz, and “Frat Boy” Nick have got the AL under the magnifying glass.

The crew then turns the clock back six months ago to begin re-analyzing their own pre-season predictions by each division. That should be a hoot!

The 2016 schedule has already been released, and the guys will take a look at some of the idiosyncrasies and unique match-ups.

There’s only a few weeks remaining, so you do not want to miss a single one of the last few Frat House Sports’ Clean-Up Hitters programs for this season . . . and, be sure to call-in to: 347 – 826 – 9964!

Can Clean Eating Help You Avoid Sunburn?

    in Health

It's summer time!  We are outside in the sun and getting our vitamin D, or so we think.  Often we slather on gobs of chemically laden sunblock to protect ourselves from getting burned.  Our bodies do not absorb Vitamin D if the suns rays do not reach our skin.  We are so paranoid about skin cancer or just burning from all the media hype we hear on TV.  It certainly is a threat but can we have our sun and vitamin D without the burn or threat of skin cancer?  Studies are showing that eating healthy, eating clean and green can reduce the chance of sunburn by keeping the skin hydrated and somewhat resistant to sunburn.

Frat House Sports' Clean-Up Hitters #26

    in Sports

We’re in the count-down to the end as there’s now just about 25-games remaining. For some “on-the-plus-side-of-the-bubble” the conclusion couldn’t come fast enough. For some so far-out, well one might be able to make the same comment.

The New York Mets however are NOT one of those as they have now opened-up a 5-game lead over the Washington Nationals but, this week a bit of a controversy broke out surrounding a possible inning-count on Matt Harvey. Really? Haven’t we been here before a few seasons ago with the Washington Nationals and Stephen Strasburg? Frat House Mike and “Frat Boys” Nick & Caleb will be talking about it!

After a slow start, there have suddenly been six no-hitters this season, three in the month of August alone and one from a pitcher some thought might be better in the minor leagues.

This year’s games have gotten shorter; perhaps Curt Schilling’s media career as well; the Kansas City Royals are dealing with a childhood disease; and a crazy Chicago White Sox fan desecrates Wrigley Field!

There’s only a few weeks remaining, so you do not want to miss a single one of the last few Frat House Sports’ Clean-Up Hitters programs for this season . . . and, be sure to call-in to: 347 – 826 – 9964!

Rolling Coal: "Clean Diesel" is an Oxymoron

    in Politics Conservative

Here are tenight's topics for discussion:

The Volkswagen Fraud: Let's face it. Diesel engines stink—literally. Why did Volkswagen take the risk? How  did they get away with it for so long? What deos the Digital Millenium Copyright Act (DMCA) have to do with this?

Hillary's Server: There is a lot of misinformation going around. What was Clinton's motivation for a "private" server? What is the difference between a private server and a private email address? What cyber attacks were used? What is the FBI investigation really looking for? What are the security implications? At this point, what can the FBI learn?

The USA is a Third World Nation: Like the proverbial frog in a boiling pot, change—or lack of change—has happened so gradually that much has gone unnuticed. Nevertheless, we are becoming more and more like Obama's ideal country.

Another Mass Shooting: It's too early to speculate about this one. Obama's reaction was predictable.

RINOs: Will business as usual continue in Congress? Is it time for a government "shutdown?"

Your opinion is welcome. Call in and tell us what you think: (310) 807-5158 or toll free (877) 878-1431

    in Sports

Well, here we go it's September now and about 30 games remaining in the MLB season, and I think Frat House Mike and “Frat Boys” Nick & Sean will be probably determine that it’s no longer necessary to talk about the Washington Nationals or Baltimore Orioles.

But, they will be talking about the St. Louis Cardinals, Pittsburgh Pirates, Chicago Cubs, and the NL Central. Is it the best division . . . EVER??? Yep, some are saying so and apparently there’s historical evidence to back it up.

After a slow start, there have suddenly been six no-hitters this season, three in the month of August alone and one from a pitcher some thought might be better in the minor leagues.

“Shoeless Joe” Jackson has been waiting nearly 100 years to get into the National Baseball Hall of Fame & Museum  . . . and, it appears that he’ll be waiting a lot longer as Commissioner Rob Manfred denied his reinstatement. What does this mean for Pete Rose’s chance? Joining us to discuss, will be Frat House Sports friend and Founder / Editor-in-Chief of Baseball Magazine baseballmagazine.net, Billy Brost.

This year’s games have gotten shorter; perhaps Curt Schilling’s media career as well; the Kansas City Royals are dealing with a childhood disease; and a crazy Chicago White Sox fan desecrates Wrigley Field!

    in Sports

Jamie McDonnell and Tomoki Kameda had a close, compelling fight in May, and they had another one today, with McDonnell again emerging victorious to retain the WBA "world" bantamweight title in Corpus Christi, Texas. This one is split down the middle on social media and message boards.

In the main event Anthony Dirrell's clash with Marco Antonio Rubio at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi went as expected with Dirrell pitching a clean shut out.
