Sacred Sunday~Colossians, Chapter 1/ Jesus-The Most Interesting Man in The World

    in Christianity

    Hello Again

Hey, there! Paul again! This time he's writing to a group of Christians in Colossae which was located in what's now Turkey. He starts out by thanking God for the Colossians. They know the truth about Jesus and they're living good Christian lives because of it. See, they found out about Jesus from this guy named Epaphras. He's told Paul all about his little students in Colossae. It was a good report. Paul still prays for them that they'll be strong in faith and keep growing and learning about God. Knowledge is (spiritual) power. God rescued all his followers from a life lived in sin and darkness. Now they're forgiven and hanging with God in his amazing kingdom.  All this happened because of Jesus. He's sort of a big deal. Jesus is the physical image of God, who is invisible. He helped the Big Guy when he was creating the world.  Everything that exists was created through Jesus and for Jesus. He's more important than every single thing and his very existence holds all of creation together. If the church is like a human body, Jesus is totally the brains, says Paul. He's always first in everything. He was also the first to die. Well, to die on a cross to save all humanity. Because of that God wiped the slate clean with humans and started over fresh. But seriously, Jesus is probably the most important and interesting guy in all of creation. As long as they keep the faith, Christians can keep these good times with God going. All they need to do is believe the stuff that Paul's told them.  All his struggles are for something greater than him. He's fighting the good fight for Jesus and to spread God's word around the Roman Empire. He chose Paul to tell all this stuff to Gentiles and help them to come over to the light side of the Force. So Paul's not worried. Even if he has to rot in jail.

Believe Part 207. Continuing the study on believe.

    in The Bible

This is a continuing bible study on the word believe in the scriptures. The Lord Jesus gave me that word to do a study on.

This is a Holy Spirit led study, so if the Lord takes it in another direction in the middle of the study, that is where I want to go, following His lead. That is when He opens up understanding of his word to us, through us being obedient to his lead.

Please feel free to call in with your testimonies, prayer requests, comments, or questions.

Carter G. Woodson and the History of Black History Month

    in Culture

Carter Godwin Woodson (Dec. 19, 1875 – April 3, 1950) was an African-American historian, author, journalist and the founder of the Association for the Study of African American Life and History. Woodson was one of the first scholars to study African-American history. A founder of The Journal of Negro History in 1915, Woodson has been cited as the father of black history. In Feb. 1926 he announced the celebration of "Negro History Week", considered the precursor of Black History Month.

Carter G. Woodson was born in Buckingham County, Virginia, the son of former slaves, James and Eliza Riddle Woodson.[5] His father helped Union soldiers during the Civil War and moved his family to West Virginia when he heard that Huntington was building a high school for blacks.

Coming from a large, poor family, Carter could not regularly attend school. Through self-instruction, he mastered the fundamentals of common school subjects by age 17. Wanting more education, Carter went to Fayette County to earn a living as a miner in the coal fields. He was able to devote only a few months each year to his schooling.

In 1895, at the age of 20, Woodson entered Douglass High School, where he received his diploma in less than two years. From 1897 to 1900, Woodson taught at Winona in Fayette County. In 1900 he was selected as the principal of Douglass High School. He earned his Bachelor of Literature degree from Berea College in Kentucky in 1903 by taking classes part-time between 1901 and 1903.

Was Flint Water Poisoning and Intentional Act of Genocide

    in Radio

This show will examine whether Flint's water supply was intentionally poisoned as an act of genocide as Councilman Wantwaz Davis and film maker Michael Moore have both stated.

Back in December, before the crisis became a national news story, Moore tweeted:

This is a racial killing, Flint is 60% African American. When you knowingly poison a Black city, you are committing a version of genocide. If this were elsewhere, and the white leader blocked a Black city's clean water supply and made them drink poison, we'd call it ethnic cleansing.

Guest Speaker Micheal Boldea Of Hand Of Help Ministries On "Heads Up Warriors"

    in Religion

Mike Boldea was born in a small northern Romanian Village.   At the age of nine, his entire family was deported from Romania for smuggling Bibles.  His grandfather, Dumitru Duduman started an outreach ministry called "Hand of Help" of which Mike is now Chairman.

Mike has traveled internationally with Dumitru for over 11 years acting as Dumitru's translator.  They shared their testimonies, as well as an important message God gave Dumitru for the United States.

Recently Mike has translated the book entitled "Life In Christ" which Dumitru had penned prior to his death.  The testimonies of those that were persecuted for their faith must live on to build up the body of Christ.  Mike continues to operate in his gift as an Evangelist to exhort the body of Christ to present itself with a garment clean before our Lord.

Michael has a strong Christian heritage coming from a line of 4 generations of Christians.  In the village of Hinceste Romania his Great grandfather was one of the first Christians converted there and his grandfather was a pastor and his father pastors the "Messiah" church in Botosani Romania with over 800 members.  Their family worked with Richard Wurmbrandt, Harlan Popoff, and brother Andrew taking bibles to the underground Church.

Michael has seen the presence of God in accomplishing the work that his family was called to.  In the face of great persecution and opposition thousands of bibles were given to the Christians of Romania even though it was punishable by imprisonment if caught.  His grandfather Dumitru Duduman did suffer greatly being imprisoned for his faith.  Under extreme torture he never recanted his faith and stands as a witness of faithfulness to this day in Romania.

KMnm/Is Black History moving to become Bilalian History? Why or Why not?

    in Religion

We are human.  We can think.  We can see.  We can hear.  We can reason too.  Sooooo, are we who have been considered to be black, of today and Negro, yesterday and colored before then.  Each phase has been connected with the process of being captured, abandonmed, abused, institutionally inferioriated, and then filtered through a demeaning learning process.  A fictitious life has followed.  As of today, no permanence has been fully established.

A country and its countrymen feel infringed upon, wanting the hands of time to turn back but they want to keep the advances made by the captured.

What are they, the migrants, who perhaps are the children of those who werved a sentence for seven years, received land and a captured  " animal " to plow the fields, clean the houses after helping to build the houses and care for the babies of the newly releassed serf.

How does Prophet Muhammad ( saw) advance the thought process to release all once enslaved individuals?

Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN) - 1285

    in Self Help

Tonight's special guest is Linda Dueling from Omaha, Nebraska, a child abuse survivor and active NAASCA volunteer family member. Linda was sexually abused and eventually raped by her Grandpa. This went on until she was about 8 years old. Later, at 12, she would 'fall in love' with a 20 year old who introduced her to IV drugs. At 15 she ended up living on the streets with a boy and they were eventually arrested for 'breaking and entering' when they tried to find shelter. He was sent to Juvenile Hall, but Linda was released to her mother. "Mom slapped and hit me the whole walk home about 12 blocks." She ran away again and experienced a horrible gang rape by a group of 'friends'. Linda says. "I know GOD saved me that night." Linda began using drugs again and meet a boy who would become her husband. "He began hitting me within months," Linda says. "I was beaten daily." It took nearly 2 decades before she joined a church and got clean. For a while things got better. She earned a Certificate in Counseling for Addiction. She built businesses and was seen as a 'success'. "I had over come my addiction and my marriage was now 'healthy' by everyone's standards. Yet I felt dead." In 2008 she tried to take her life. "I was held at the hospital for almost a month. When I left I went into Intensive Outpatient Therapy 5 days a week, four hours a day." In 2010 she'd had enough. "I left for a business trip and never returned home." Her life has improved but she knows she still has a long way to go. She pushes on "Telling this side of my story with out protecting anyone in the process is a new journey."
