Wife, mom, singer, songwriter, actress, and philanthropist Chynna Phillips was born to musicians John and Michelle Phillips of famed 60's group The Mamas and The Papas. Chynna began her acting career in John Hughes' teen-sensation Some Kind of Wonderful. She followed up with roles in Caddyshack II, Say Anything, and also played the character Roxanne Pulitzer in the 1989 TV biopic Roxanne: The Prize Pulitzer. During this time, Chynna, along with childhood friends Carnie & Wendy Wilson, formed the trio Wilson Phillips. In 1990, the group released their self-titled debut album which went on to sell ten million copies worldwide, went multi-platinum, and had three number one singles. In 1992, Billboard declared them the best selling female group of all time, breaking the record previously held by Motown's The Supremes. Wilson Phillips was nominated for 5 Grammy Awards, an American Music Award, and won a Billboard Music Award (for songs "Hold On" and "Release Me", which were also written by Phillips). She drops by to chat on Tuesday, January 22, at 7pm EST, to discuss her latest project & tour.
Chynna Phillips, 90's pop music icon, is the only child of musicians, John and Michelle Phillips, of the famed "The Mamas and The Papas" group. In the late 1980's, Chynna, and childhood friends, Carnie and Wendy Wilson ("Beach Boys" Brian Wilson's daughters), formed "Wilson Phillips," and in 1990, released their debut album. "Wilson Phillips" sold ten million copies worldwide, went to multiplatinum, and charted three Billboard Top 100 #1 singles, prompting Billboard's declaring them the best selling female group of all time, breaking the record previously held by "The Supremes." "Wilson Phillips" was nominated for 5 Grammy Awards, an American Music Award, and won Billboard Music Awards for "Hold On" and "Release Me," both written by Chynna Phillips. Recently Wilson Phillips was featured in the hit movie, "Bridesmaids," and Chynna participated in the ABC hit, "Dancing With The Stars," while recording songs for the groups new album, "Dedicated," featuring a collection of songs written and made famous by their musical parents of "The Beach Boys" and "The Mamas and The Papas." within 12 hours of the release, it shot up to #5 on Amazon's Best Seller's Music List. This month, "Wilson Phillips: Still Holding On" debuted on the TV Guide channel. The reality show features Carnie, Wendy, and Chynna, 25 years after their first single hit #1 on the charts. Now working moms, the cameras follow the three as they struggle to balance their musical pursuits, lifelong friendships, and family lives. Chynna has been married for 17 years to actor William (Billy) Baldwin.
A talented playwright and song writer, Henry Phillips can be seen regularly on Comedy Central in half hour specials and "Drunk History". His popular youtube series "Henry's Kitchen" chronicles his failed attempts at cooking and at love.

Shatroyia Phillips is a proud business owner, entrepreneur, and author of All Hail the Queen, her autobiographical story of woman empowerment, moral choice, and responsibility. Unlike other books, Shatroyia’s life in All Hail the Queen captures her experience as a “plus-sized diva/ beauty queen.” As it turns out, America’s first “full-figured” book main character is actually a real person! As acceptance and appreciation for plus-sized women has increased in the fashion world in recent years, Shatroyia’s book is perfectly poised to make a splash.
Shatroyia’s objective for the book is to share her story, from her most dark, fearful, and tearful moments to her most private, proud, and cheerful ones. Her whole life is there as a vivid illustration to teenage girls, showing them that "everything that glitters is not gold" and the importance connected to making the right or wrong decisions and dealing with their consequences. Her book is also a reaching-out to the "underdog"-- all the women of the world (especially the plus-sized ladies) who have been made to feel like they can't. Her story is testimony that you CAN. You can be sexy. You can be successful. You can find love. You can be happy. No matter the odds against you, never let anyone tell you that you can't... because you CAN.
