Wife, mom, singer, songwriter, actress, and philanthropist Chynna Phillips was born to musicians John and Michelle Phillips of famed 60's group The Mamas and The Papas. Chynna began her acting career in John Hughes' teen-sensation Some Kind of Wonderful. She followed up with roles in Caddyshack II, Say Anything, and also played the character Roxanne Pulitzer in the 1989 TV biopic Roxanne: The Prize Pulitzer. During this time, Chynna, along with childhood friends Carnie & Wendy Wilson, formed the trio Wilson Phillips. In 1990, the group released their self-titled debut album which went on to sell ten million copies worldwide, went multi-platinum, and had three number one singles. In 1992, Billboard declared them the best selling female group of all time, breaking the record previously held by Motown's The Supremes. Wilson Phillips was nominated for 5 Grammy Awards, an American Music Award, and won a Billboard Music Award (for songs "Hold On" and "Release Me", which were also written by Phillips). She drops by to chat on Tuesday, January 22, at 7pm EST, to discuss her latest project & tour.
Chynna Phillips, 90's pop music icon, is the only child of musicians, John and Michelle Phillips, of the famed "The Mamas and The Papas" group. In the late 1980's, Chynna, and childhood friends, Carnie and Wendy Wilson ("Beach Boys" Brian Wilson's daughters), formed "Wilson Phillips," and in 1990, released their debut album. "Wilson Phillips" sold ten million copies worldwide, went to multiplatinum, and charted three Billboard Top 100 #1 singles, prompting Billboard's declaring them the best selling female group of all time, breaking the record previously held by "The Supremes." "Wilson Phillips" was nominated for 5 Grammy Awards, an American Music Award, and won Billboard Music Awards for "Hold On" and "Release Me," both written by Chynna Phillips. Recently Wilson Phillips was featured in the hit movie, "Bridesmaids," and Chynna participated in the ABC hit, "Dancing With The Stars," while recording songs for the groups new album, "Dedicated," featuring a collection of songs written and made famous by their musical parents of "The Beach Boys" and "The Mamas and The Papas." within 12 hours of the release, it shot up to #5 on Amazon's Best Seller's Music List. This month, "Wilson Phillips: Still Holding On" debuted on the TV Guide channel. The reality show features Carnie, Wendy, and Chynna, 25 years after their first single hit #1 on the charts. Now working moms, the cameras follow the three as they struggle to balance their musical pursuits, lifelong friendships, and family lives. Chynna has been married for 17 years to actor William (Billy) Baldwin.

Ed Smith and I recap, break down, and analyze the Lions' 33-28 collapse against the Chargers at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego. The Lions relinquished an early 21-3 lead, and the defense ran out of gas very early. We also talk about why the Lions decided to punt on 4th and 1 after Ameer Abdullah failed to convert on 3rd and 2. Plus, we discuss how that loss can carry over into Week 2 at TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis against the Minnesota Vikings.

Ed Smith and I recap how the Michigan Wolverines picked up their second consecutive shutout win by blanking the Maryland Terrapins 28-0 on the road, the Michigan State Spartans just barely hanging on to beat the Purdue Boilermakers 24-21 in East Lansing, the Lions unexpectedly coming up just 3 points short to the Seattle Seahawks 13-10 in Seattle, and the 2015 MLB regular season that was so horrible for Brad Ausmus and the highly-talented Tigers.
Horrace Walpole was noted for sharing, "LIFE is a tragedy for those who feel but a comedy for those who THINK!" LIFE after a brain injury, for those who've endured such things, can be anything BUT a comedy. For most it is a TRAGEDY in the beginning, with questions of 'why and or how' could this have happened. Which ultimately lead to bigger questions of "What to do now?"
What would you do if you could improve your circumstances? Would the end result be a COMEDY? Join Kevin tonight for Part Deux as he continues to share 13 Unique strategies he's developed over the past 12 years of LIFE with at Traumatic Brain Injury that anyone can employ and immediately start improving their circumstances, regardless of what they may be.
Call in live at (646) 478-4837 for your reactions! Keep it very clean though.
According to Justin Spiro of the Detroit Sports Rag, the Tigers will hire former Minnesota Twins manager Ron Gardenhire to manage them starting next year, and there's something wrong with that.
The Tigers also release their 2016 schedule. They'll start it on the road against a National League team and end it against an NL team as well.
The Red Wings have signed Dan Cleary to a 1-year, $950,000 contract, but he'll play with the Grand Rapids Griffins.
