CARLENA Carlena Britch is an excellent dancer, choreographer and actress. Born in Vancouver, BC Canada, she discovered dance at the young age of 9. Carlena’s professional career started with a lead dance role in the Disney movie “Camp Rock 2” and from there expanded as she landed a spot on “So You Think You Can Dance,” inspiring others through her touching story and her journey on the show.
Carlena has had tremendous success in her career so far, dancing for artists such as, Chris Brown, Usher, Jason Derulo, Michael Buble, Prince, Ne-Yo and Pharrell to name a few. Most recently, she finished a two year, world tour with Justin Bieber and starred in the feature film, “Believe” about their tour journey.

Jason J. Carter is an all around entertainer, whether he is modeling, dancing, radio host, on camera host, choreographing and giving the Queens of RuPaul's Drag Race some eye candy as part of the "pit crew" - Jason is surely busy with a broad range of talents. Mr. Kid has appeared on Nickelodeon, MTV, VH1, BET, Metro Channel, Good Day New York and Good Morning America. He’s even done photo shoots for the very popular magazines such as Vogue, Trace, Breaking Grounds and The New York Post. As well as having a gift for dance, his talent expands to the stage. Mr. Kid also has the gift of acting, which landed him a role in the Lincoln Center play "The Gift Unleashing the Mystery", as an actor and head choreographer. Some of his previous accomplishments include dancing at the 2008 Disco Ball, alongside Bonnie Pointer and The Sugar Hill Gang and hosting The Pro Dance Tour Dance Competition. His award winning choreography has created an upstanding reputation and follows through to this day, winning national titles and special awards. Mr. Kid has taught and continues to teach master classes all over the tri state area, including individual workshops with the Abby Lee Miller Dance Company and Dance Moms Miami, Angel & Victor. He now runs his own workshops and master classes as well as guest teaching at various studios choreographing special competition pieces.

We speak this morning to Latanya d. Tigner who has been with Dimensions since 1986, studying and performing traditional West and South African dance, modern, contemporary, jazz, Haitian, Cuban, and Congolese dance. She has traveled to Cuba, Guinea, Brazil, Jordan, Germany, and throughout the U.S. Latanya was selected as one of three emerging artists for the first annual Black Choreographers Here and Now Festival in 2005. This past summer she participated in Urban Bush Women’s acclaimed Summer Leadership Institute in New Orleans, where she worked with dancers and other social activists to serve the New Orleans community. She also did a residency with Shaka Zulu to study the traditions of mask dance in New Orleans. Latanya is the artistic diector and choreographer for Dimensions‘ youth ensemble, Dimensions Extensions Performing Ensemble (DEPE). She joins us to talk about the 20th Anniversary performance of Rites of Passage, Sunday, Dec. 5, 3 p.m. in Oakland. Visit www.dimensionsdance.org

Charlita Schuster is one of a kind when it comes to developing the potential of children. A former dancer & founder of her dance studio, Music in Motion School of Higher Dance Education, Charlita goes all out for the children in her hometown of Fredericksted, St. Croix, US Virgin Islands. An invitation to participate in a dance concert at Disney World allows 5 of her young students to participate in a televised Christmas event by ABC TV.
Charlita has always been closely associated with our local youth. She's the guiding force behind providing professional dance training to the children of the Virgin Islands.
Charlita’s career was molded from an early age. Her family moved from native St. Croix to New York City where she was able to take advantage of the available opportunities. From an early age she trained with the Children’s Ballet at Carnegie Hall & graduated from the NY High School of Performing Arts. Performing with the Dance Theatre of Harlem & the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre eventually led to the professional stages of the City Ballet of Honolulu & Ballet Florida. Her dream of becoming a professional ballerina had been realized.
Much sought-after as a pageant coach, she's been credited with making winners in pageants such as Hal Jackson’s Talented Teen Competition, Miss St. Croix, Miss Cinderella, Miss Jabberwock, and others. She's participated for 3 consecutive years as a choreographer for the Miss British Virgin Islands Pageant. Many local & international winners owe their success to her expertise. She's also often asked to participate as a judge & has received many awards for her choreography & stage productions.
Marlee is a 14 year old dance phenom. She was on America's Got Talent, Season 5 and finished in the Top 10. She is a member of Studio One Young Beast Society and is a feature headliner on the 2015 World of Dance Tour. Marlee will be in Seattle for the World of Dance Tour on November 15th.
