Tonight’s featured artist is Christina Marie Magenta, an American industrial rock band based in Northern VA. Christina has been writing music and modeling since she was a young girl. She went to college in Virginia for business and business law, and at home has studied music and herpetology for many years. Originally she spent years recording an album at a studio in Portland, Oregon; but near the end all files were lost in a flood. She gave up on music for several years until one day she saw her son making music, and decided to start over in a new studio. With powerful motivation, and a new team of musicians, her 1st album Burn was completed in a few short months and was released 2011, followed by Poison in late 2012, Drown in 2015 and 3 remix albums.

Michaela Floyd grew up in a very dysfunctional household. Her father was a preacher that eventually was kicked out of the church due to his alcohol abuse and was abusive to her mother. Michaela suffered through emotional, verbal and physical abuse at the hands of her father. Her mother finally left her father in Michaela’s late teens.
Dating was very difficult for Michaela because she felt that every man would be abusive but while in college she married an older man just to escape her chaotic life. Early in her marriage her husband was very controlling and for the most part she was compliant but when she wasn’t it resulted in extreme physical abuse. The abuse continued through the marriage and although Michaela never denied him sex, he began raping her in order to show his control over her.
After her husband began abusing drugs, they divorced & she moved to Nashville. After seeking employment with no luck, she finally took a job as an erotic masseuse after being assured that she would not have to do anything she didn’t want to do. She soon found out the company was owned by a prominent mafia family. She was trafficked in 11 states and 26 cities within a 3-month period. After finally being able to get back to Nashville and becoming an independent sex worker in order to support her family. But over the course of 15 months was able to rebuild a life for her family, attend counseling and eventually get out of the life.
Michaela has become active in speaking out and working with other survivors to reach out to women still trapped in trafficking and prostitution. Eventually, she would like to do this kind of work full-time, but for now God has opened many doors and she has been busy educating herself about this horrific evil. She feels very blessed to know so many survivors and to call them her sisters and friends.”

Welcome to the Heroes of Katrina: 10 Years After
Pets and Storms
The demographics and statistics are amazing. There are 2.5 animals (cats/dogs…etc. for every American home).
When a population of almost a million evacuates an area and is forced to leave their pets behind…the result is 2.5 million animals…homeless…ownerless…destitute. This was the situation during and after Hurricane Katrina. Indeed the animal issue was largely overlooked by all the rescuing agencies Federal and otherwise.
After Katrina, the animal population was largely overlooked within the rescue and aid infrastructure. All of the guests on Tuesday's show were on the ground and dedicated to the rescue of the animals left behind.
With hurricane season starting June 1st, this show is timely and hopefully can be used as a resource for the animal lovers of the Gulf Coast.
Please join us this very special evening as we welcome our returning guest, Award Winning Author Jenny Pavlovic. We will discuss an extremely important topic....preparing our beloved pets for a hurricane. Jenny Pavlovic, animal rescuer and author of the award winning book, “The 8 States of Hurricane Kate,” will share very valuable advice and insight regarding the necessary precautionary measures needed to safeguard our furry friends and all animal creatures BEFORE a hurricane strikes. Hurricane season is fast approaching - June 1 through November 30, 2015. It's not too early to listen and learn what to do in advance. Please don't wait until it's too late. Feel free to call in and share, comment, question, discuss with Jenny.
