This morning, I will share myriad emotions that teenagers experience when going from childhood to adulthood, and how we, as their parents, can assist.  Tune in to The DIAMOND Report., Sunday morning at 8:00 AM EST right here on WOW Network Radio, #BlogTalkRadio

  • Quilt of Souls with Phyllistene Lawson

    in History

Join my special guest Phyllistene Lawson for a discussion of her book Quilt of Souls. Quilt of Souls is a memoir that represents the author's childhood, her loving grandmother, and an old, tattered quilt that tells the untold stories that have long since been hushed. A quilt sewn with the used clothing of her grandmother's loved ones. Each piece of fabric woven into the quilt tells stories of how that person lived and died. Tragic stories of pain and suffering threaded back together with each healing stitch of perseverance and courage.  Grandma Lula Horn (1883-1986) was like many other grandmothers of her era, a pioneer, and a symbol of hope who found alternative ways to soften the horrors of racism and bigotry.

Ms. Lawson completed her military career in 2013.  Prior to her completing 20 years of military service, she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.  Ms. Lawson is married with two sons and five Granddaughter’s and currently reside in Florida.

Jonny Enoch is a man of many talents, and at the young age of 30, he's one of the brightest and most intelligent people when it comes to the spiritual and conscious. Jonny is someone who, as a child, started having encounters with spirits that led to a very solitary childhood. Conversations with Sapphire JBlue and Author Kendra Reeves - "The Crush"

    in Writing

Composed and confident, Sofie Roberts is thrown for a loop when she runs into the one man who makes her feel like the weak-kneed, starry-eyed young girl she’d been years before—her childhood crush, Bryant Lewis. Seeing him all these years later makes her realize the feelings she’d had for him are still as strong as they were back then.
Bryant Lewis is surprised and impressed when he has a chance encounter with Sofie Roberts. She is no longer the shy, quiet girl he remembers from the neighborhood. She has grown into a sexy, confident woman. The attraction he felt from the moment he bumped into her was something he couldn’t deny.
Now that she is an adult and has the opportunity to tell Bryant her secret will Sofie take the risk of being rejected and embarrassed, or should she just let the old crush be just that—her secret?
Bryant has been stung—painfully—by a woman in the past. He isn’t looking for anything serious, but the electricity that sizzles between him and Sofie is something that can’t be ignored. Is he willing to move act on that attraction?
What happens when two people make a connection? When the desire that burns between them becomes so hot that sparks begin to jump? Will the crush be the start of a journey of desire and seduction, or will Sofie and Bryant let their fears and past hurts keep them from exploring where this chance encounter could take them?
