Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN) - 1196

    in Self Help

Tonight's special guest is Rachel Grant from San Francisco, a returning NAASCA family member, counselor and Sexual Abuse and Trauma Recovery Coach at Rachel Grant Coaching. Abused as a child by her grandfather in Oklahoma, Rachel now holds an M.A. in Counseling Psychology. She provides a compassionate and challenging approach for her clients while using coaching as opposed to therapeutic models to help survivors of childhood sexual abuse let go of the pain of abuse and finally feel normal. As Rachel says, "What you think, you create!" She brings to the table a passionate belief that her clients do not have to remain trapped or confronted daily by the thoughts or behaviors that result from abuse. For her, how we are relating to others is crucial to improving the overall quality of our lives. Her program, Beyond Surviving, has been specifically designed to change the way we think about and heal from abuse. Rachel writes, "The Beyond Surviving program is based on what I have learned through my own journey of recovery from sexual abuse, my study of neuroscience, and my training in counseling psychology. I have given much thought to the structure and content of the program so that my clients can reach the recovery goals they set in a way that is approachable and straightforward." She goes on to explain, "We use my guidebook, Beyond Surviving: The Final Stage in Recovery from Sexual Abuse as the roadmap for our work. Each month, we cover a few of the lessons from the guidebook and I bring in additional reflections and exercises for each session." "Ultimately," she points out, "you are in the driver's seat and we prioritize our work based on your needs."

  • What's the Point of Child Support

    in Entertainment

It seems like lately, people have been going on and on about the perils of child support. The question many pose is whether or not it is truly necessary. There are women that believe that child support is asked for by bitter women while others can agree that it is necessary for fathers (and sometimes mothers) to fulfill their obligation in some form.

What do you think? Does it make a difference what the money is spent on, meaning household items or on the children directly. Or should a woman not ask for it at all.

Make sure to comment on Twitter if you're listening online. @TripleQuixotic and @OMGitzKesha are your hosts tonight. Call in and be our special guests. Also check out our blogs at www.chatwithkesh.com and www.quixoticmuses.com --

    Lakota Heart -N- Soul

    in Spirituality

The topics of this show are based on Lakota Star Knowledge and may include viewing current events from the Ancient Lakota perspective. This show's objective is perpetuate peace among all people, as the foundation of all universes is based on "Mitakuye Oyas'in". The Lakota Star Knowledge definition of "Mitakuye Oyas'in" is that before you can be at peace with all the relatives throughout all universes, you must first have peace among all the relatives within your own inner universe. The mind, body, soul and emotions are all connected to each other. When you do your best in nurturing these four parts, you will establish peace within yourself. Only then are you able to be at peace with all creation around you.
