Can you imagine, this young man has gone from being seen my millions on "Full House" and the Movie " The Little Rascals" is now shaking and singing and " Screaming@ The Opera"! Well let me explain really what this all means! In June of 2014 Blake Mc Iver released his new album The Time Manipulator at the on Monday June 2nd at the Lyric Theatre in LA.
The Time Manipulator encompasses 9 songs in all, including heartfelt hit Wish I Didn’t Need You, the powerful Screaming @ The Opera, and the rousing Stand and Fight. So really, he is not technically Screaming @ The Opera..but you will be when you hear the song! And just for the record, its no where near Operatic tones!!
On his release which is described as “a musical journey through Blake’s own “space time continuum.” It has flavors of decades gone by (classic rock, gospel, bossa nova) as well as futuristic yearnings (dance, electropop). The through-line of the album is empowerment. Blake implores the listener to overcome their past to make way for the future.
Blake McIver is a self-proclaimed “reformed” child star, known for his roles on such TV series as Full House and Home Improvement and in films like The Little Rascals and Anastasia. His comeback as a musician has been chronicled by such media outlets as Inside Edition, The Huffington Post, International Business Times, E! Online, Buzzfeed, Examiner.com, The L.A Times, WROM and the World Entertainment News Network.

It's time to have that deep conversation! Star Trek vs Star Wars! Ever since the franchises were forged there has been a rivalry between fans. Which is better? Is Star Trek too boring and intellectual? Is Star Wars too cartoony and silly albeit action packed? Star Trek has prided itself on alway seeking advice from actual scientists and astro physicists. Wheras Star Wars likes to maintain the world of Star Wars and its characters. The drama filled scenes of Star Wars keeps its fans coming back.
We will discuss why there is a rivalry between fans
Compare the words of Star Wars and Star Trek
Which has the best villians?
Which has the best hereos?

SPECIAL TOPIC Night - "Child Abuse, Trauma and 12-Step Recovery" - STEP 1 (and we'll include a bit about TRADITION 1) - SCAN host Bill Murray will be joined by special guest co-host Rivka Edery, MSW, LCSW, from NYC, author of the book “Trauma and Transformation: A 12-Step Guide." Bill founded the recently launched Adult Survivors of Child Abuse Anonymous (ASCAA). Together they will lead tonight's discussion on STEP 1: "We admitted we were powerless over the abuse and trauma of our youth -- that our lives had become unmanageable." The survivor's decision to begin a process of healing begins with the admission of what happened to them. This involves working through the defenses employed to shun from consciousness the excruciatingly painful memories of the traumatic events. Having passed through this phase of remembering (in any way possible), the acceptance of the truth of the traumatic experience moves the survivor towards resolution. Thus begins the creation of an internal, healing space for the survivor to feel what remained frozen in time, banished and unwelcome in consciousness. ~~ A child abuse survivor herself, Rivka Edery is grateful for the spiritual recovery she found in the 12 Steps of AA. She's been active in the 12 Step community for over 17 years. Bill Murray credits his 30 plus years of recovery to the spiritual power of the 12 Step program, too. ~~ Join us every two weeks to further examine a 12 Step approach to recovery from abuse. Next show we'll address STEP 2 & TRADITION 2. ~~ Please see our web page at: www.NAASCA.org/Trauma-12Step or write to Rivka at: email@example.com
Deadbeat parents are those who have been ordered by the Family law courts to pay child support monies of an unspecified amount, to the custodial parent (One who has custody of the child), but he/she is refusing to follow the order. Even when they have the financial means to do so. Question, Are you a custodial parent who's dealing with this problem in your life? Do he/she have the financial means of providing for their child/children, but still refuse to do so? Or are you a listener who would like to weigh in on this heated topic?... Well, the queens would love the opportunity to hear your story, or get your feedback, right here in the playhouse!!! "See you there"!!!!

Tonight's special guest is Polly Moore from Atlanta, Georgia, a returning NAASCA family member. Polly is the Executive Administrative Assistant of Angela Williams, Founder of VOICE Today, a non-profit organization whose mission is to break the cycle and silence of child sexual abuse through awareness, prevention, and healing programs. She began volunteering with VOICE Today on July 17, 2012, the day after she broke her silence. She'd found her voice at VOICE Today's support group the night before. Polly grew up with six siblings in Mobile, Alabama, but was only 8 years old when her father died of lung cancer. Soon two neighborhood boys began to molest her, friends of her older twin brothers. A couple of years later she was assaulted by another neighbor and later by her older brother. She was able to break away from the abuse at the age of twelve, but was by then deep in the darkness of isolation. Polly is now a mother and grandmother, and has lived in Atlanta for the past 15 years. She is contemplating returning to finish her final year at Western Carolina University where she majored in Accounting, and has become a devoted advocate for adult survivors of Child Sexual Abuse. Polly says she will forever continue to help fellow adult survivors find their voice and welcome their healing through the working of Angela Williams and VOICE Today.
