Chris Carter and Dani Bostick talk about the excruciatingly horrible loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 7. Between questionable play calling, horrendous mistakes by the defense, mediocre quarterbacking, and inconsistent offensive line play, the Steelers loss to the Kansas City Chiefs was both frustrating and avoidable.
Danny and Kenny talk to Joel Thorman from SB Nation's ultra-popular Chiefs' blog Arrowhead Pride, about who to watch on Kansas City and what to expect on Friday.
The preseason begins for the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday, August 15. They will open at home against the Kansas City Chiefs, a team Arizona defeated a season ago. But being the preseason, nothing is at stake except for jobs for the players on the respective rosters.
Matt Conner of Arrowhead Pride, the SB Nation Kansas City Chiefs blog, joined Jess on the show to talk about the offseason of the Chiefs and how training camp has gone.
Would you like to know more about the Cardinals' first preseason opponent? Listen in!
The Kansas City Chiefs were yet another strange team in 2014, going from 0-2 to 7-3, then laying an egg to Oakland (even though they scored 20 points) & ultimately falling out of the AFC playoff picture. But the big story was safety Eric Berry's health. After that loss to the Raiders, he received an X-ray which revealed a mass in his chest believed to be lymphoma. He was placed on the non-football illness list, ending his season. A month later, Berry was confirmed to have Hodgskin's lymphoma. He has begun treatment & many of us are wishing him a strong recovery. My prayers have been & will be w/ him during this time. The Chiefs have made some moves during the off-season, bringing in free agents such as wide receiver Jeremy Maclin (reuniting w/ Jason Avant from Philadelphia) & safety Tyvon Branch. The pressure continues to be on head coach Andy Reid. He's been expected to make a Super Bowl run w/ this team & that hasn't happened. & he has yet to win a Super Bowl, pinning him on the list of one of the greatest coaches in league history to not accomplish the feat. Some fans have started to lost patience. Something's gotta give, right? I hope for the sake of Reid that this team finally turns to corner in 2015. It's been a long time coming since the franchise's last Super Bowl triumph (Super Bowl III), but Arrowhead remains one of the toughest places to play of opponents & as long as you have great fans supporting your team, you'll always have a shot to accomplish wins, divison titles, & maybe even a Lombardi trophy. This team still has work to do, but it looks like they're heading in the right direction. How far can & will they go? We'll discuss that as well as Eric Berry in our next installment of "The Rocket Sports Breakdown" Friday evening @ 6:30pm on Blog Talk Radio. Rocket Nation, get ready for a power trip.

The Kansas City Chiefs visit Lambeau Field next Monday. The Chiefs lead the overall series 7-3-1 and have never lost at Lambeau Field (3-0). Brett Favre and Trent Green were the quarterbacks, the last time the Chiefs visited Green Bay. Now Aaron Rodgers and Alex Smith will battle. Smith was the first overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft, while Aaron Rodgers fell to Green Bay with the 24th pick. Some scouts thought Rodgers was going to be the first pick, and he has played with a chip on his shoulder ever since. Rodgers has been the NFL's MVP twice, and has won a Super Bowl. Things didn't work out in San Francisco for Alex Smith and he was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs before the 2013 season.
The Packers are coming off an emotional win over the Seattle Seahawks. The Chiefs dropped their last game to the Denver Broncos. Green Bay will be battling numerous injuries going into the game. Eddie Lacy left Sunday's game early in the first quarter with an ankle injury. Bryan Bu had knee surgery and will not play, while DeVante Adams did not practice today. The Packers had hopes of a high powered offense, but injuries have change the dimensions. James Starks played well after Lacy went down. The Packers can not afford another injury at wide receiver, even though rookie Ty Montgomery contribued against the Seahawks and James Jones is catching touchdowns (three in two games). The offensive line will be tested against a fierce Chiefs front seven. Tamba Hali and Justin Houston could be two of the best outside linebackers in the NFL. David Bakhtiari and Don Barclay will have their hands full protecting Aaron Rodgers.
On defense, the Packers held Marshawn Lynch in check and now they face another good back in Jamaal Charles. The key to success was disrupting the seahawks run game, which will be necessary against the Chiefs.
For the first time since 2003, the Cubs have a postseason victory. Everything about the team's performance last night illustrated just how much progress they've made, along with the elevated level of maturity on a very young and talented team. Can they keep the ball rolling against their hated rival Cardinals in the NLDS?
Can the Bears improving defense slow down Jamaal Charles and the Chiefs offense? And what will Jay Cutler's makeshift offensive line look like this week?

Eric Snyder does a dead-on Howard Cosell impersonation after the Thursday night game.
The incredible ending to the Thursday night game – the fumble by the Cheifs Jamal Charles leading to a Denver touchdown – and a win for the Broncos in the final seconds – brought back some memories and a séance like call from my football expert Eric Snyder.
After Howard left our show, Eric says this is as a devastating loss to the chiefs as it was the giants nearly 40 years ago.

Taylor "Gator" Phillips and Ed Smith preview and analyze Week 9 of College Football in the Mitten, including the Michigan Wolverines/Minnesota Golden Gophers and Central Michigan Chippewas/Akron Zips and NFL Week 8 from London, England, between the Lions and Kansas City Chiefs. The Pontiac Silverdome will be demolished.
We also evaluate the Red Wings through their first 10 games and the Pistons through their first 2 games in their regular seasons. The Pistons will retire Ben Wallace's and Chauncey Billups's numbers up to the rafters at the Palace of Auburn Hills, and former Pistons head coach Flip Saunders passes away.
In baseball, the Tigers hire Rich Dubee as their new pitching coach. How good is he? What could he bring to the table in Jeff Jones's cleats? Also, starting pitcher Daniel Norris feels "cancer free" after his thyroid cancer surgery.
