DJ Grand Mill on LIF Talk with Cherie

    in Music

DJ Grand Mill, a Tennessee native, is a turntablist.  DJ Grand Mill is not only a dj, but is also known as THE RAPPING DJ and is also a producer as well.  Mark 5:8-9 says, “COME OUT OF THE MAN, THOU UNCLEAN SPIRIT.”  And he asked him, “WHAT IS THY NAME?” And he answered, saying, “My name is Legion, for we are MANY.” Bishop Terry Minor (Grand Mill’s Father), had a PROPHETIC DREAM one night that was Divinely Interpreted!! In the dream: Bishop Terry Minor was standing in a room and the nations were outside all around the room crying out for help shouting “Pastor Minor!!!! Come on!!!!” Across the room from Pastor Minor was a big man balling his fist, as if he is ready to fight. Pastor Minor said ”Who are you?” the man answered him saying “I am Legion, for we are many.”  Then while Bishop Minor VERBALLY began to REBUKE him, “Legion” dropped to the floor in appearance as a CD. And before Bishop Minor COULD CAST HIM OUT OR SPEAK TO HIM (while Legion fell to the floor as a CD) it was DJ Grand Mill who appeared and PHYSICALLY grabbed the CD and through it out!! With Legion representing “MANY” and the nations outside under the dirt crying out for help, at that moment DJ Grand Mill realized it was time to fulfill the calling That God has on his Life to cast out and move out Legion with and through his music. DJ Grand Mill making beats all his life, felt the Holy Spirit in him to Rap-Preach The Word through his music. DJ Grand Mill is now pursuing God’s calling on his Life and preaching the Gospel through his music and is being a BODY that Christ will use to spread the message.

Author Teresa Mason-Browning on LIF Talk with Cherie

    in Books

INTRODUCING TERESA MASON BROWNING!!!  AUTHOR OF "A BLACK MAN'S PAIN"

I first discovered my passion for wring at the early age of 13. I would sit alone and write for hours about my thoughts, dreams and about the people around me. I wrote in a journal every day. Aer many years had passed I decided to take my journals and put my thoughts into book form.
As a self published author I actually didn't start putting my work together for a novel unl my children were in there last few years of high school so it was very easy to find me to capture my thoughts. My children were very supportive in my goal of becoming a writer.
Getting my work published was the easy part. It is you who must be able to walk through the door in your season to deliv-er the message. If you reach one person with your message from what you have written, you know you have achieved the goal you personally set out to do.
For all of you who have taken me out of your busy day to read through the pages of these books, I extend a gracious thank you. I hope that they have been a blessing to you and have allowed you to release everything that has held you back from accomplishing your hopes and dreams in life. Peace and love to you all.

LIF Talk with Cherie Featuring Higher Authority

    in Music

For over a decade, Higher Authority (Charity, Khristi, Vennetta and Zimika) have represented an interesting contradiction:  gentle, caring, beautiful young women, yet aggressive and warlike when it comes to serving God by the lives they lead and the message they write in their songs. The new single, “I’m His Favorite” is a perfect announcement of our place in the eyes of God.  It simply states God is not mad at us, but is madly in love with us, and we are his favorite in all the world. “Say Wow” is a song that expresses their amazement of God. Higher Authority recorded the song in Spanish and will be released as a CD single September 2014. The song “V.I.R.G.I.N.” hits the concerned areas of our culture today about promiscuity and combating it. Their songs have been played on KURS, San Diego’s first 24-hour gospel music radio show, have been interviewed by host Duane Watson on “In the spot light” and have attained airplay on KIFM with Eric J. Chambers hosting on “The Jazzspel Show”. Higher Authority is deeply devoted to their local community in San Diego, California. .  They partnered with various organizations, the Daniel Foundation which focuses on helping inner city youth,     They received an award for Best Original Composition at the San Diego County Fair in the Acappella Contest for “I am” which demonstrates their intricate harmonies and flawless blending. Higher Authority’s passion for ministry as well as a respect for their platform is of great importance to each of its members. Charity, Khristi, Vennetta and Zimika all believe that their mission is to be a blessing to others. “Our prayer is that you be blessed by the lyrics of our songs and allow them to become more than just words but also a confession”.

LIF Talk with Cherie Interview with The Choir Boyz

    in Music

The Choir Boyz is comprised of five distinct vocal gifts, all having their roots as Baltimore natives. Randy Roberts, Derek Owens, Martin “Marty” Wilson, Darrell Holmes and Richard Yerby make up this gospel-soul quintet, and are an amalgamation of street life and God’s grace. Each one with a story behind his voice, has tasted life’s trials and worldly triumphs, but ultimately found redemption in the hands of God. Their history together spans over 20 years, and their unwavering belief in and commitment to God has culminated into the powerful quintet that is the Choir Boyz!

Each member of the Choir Boyz is a gifted musician in his own right, which serves only to enhance the total Choir Boyz experience. They have shared the stage with other musical giants such as Mary Mary, Donnie McClurkin and Kirk Franklin – just to name a few. Most of the group’s members got their start in the R&B arena before moving to gospel. Since that time, these godly soldiers have committed to writing and recording original compositions that bring hope to the masses through heartfelt lyrics based on true life experiences.

The Choir Boyz’ musical library consists of their freshman release “Ordered Steps”, followed by the sophomore smash, “This Time”. “Sing unto the Lord” marked their junior release in 2006. After a brief hiatus, the group came together with a fresh, new sound. Their recently released comeback single, “The Devil is a Liar” has been received by their fans with a thunderous WOW!

With a sound uniquely their own, The Choir Boyz convey the message of the gospel that is palatable to any listener. With their current project in the works, the Choir Boyz are showing no signs of stopping.

LIF Talk with Cherie present the Founders of C.H.O.I.C.E

    in Education

The founders Mr. and Mrs. Antwan Robinson started the Choice program November 12 2013.  Choice is an educational program designed for the purpose of aiding personal and social development of youth through their formal, academic, religious or vocational training.   Choice goal is to reach the “yet-to-be-reached.”  Educate or inform the target population increasing their knowledge and/or skills; build trust and relationships between program, staff and youth.  We offer a range of education intervention and prevention service to provide positive alternatives for youth, ensure their safety, and maximize their ability to take advantage of available opportunities.Choice empowers youth to make their own choices and when youth are ready, Choice helps them explore the gap between where they are and where they want to be.  Then we link youth to resources that can bridge that gap.  If a young person is not ready to explore options, Choice simply remain available to them until they are.  Most youth appreciate knowing that there are people willing to help.  “Knowing that there is somebody out there who cares,” it can really have a profound impact on someone’s life.”  Eighty percent (80%) of youths who are locked up right now for certain acts, feels that the behavior that they think led up to that, a lot of it had to do with feeling like nobody else cared about, or feeling disrespected by everybody else unless they belong to something bigger than themselves that they knew about was the gang.  The story of God is what’s Bigger and Better, that God lives through us!
