Friendly Spirit, Joyce Meyer, and I Timothy 2:1 (Everyday Thanks #45)

    in Self Help

Today, I am thankful for a friendly spirit.

Our quote of thanks is from Joyce Meyer. He said, "I imagine that it saddens the heart of God when we murmur and complain, instead of being thankful after He's been so good to us."

Our Bible verse of thanks is I Timothy 2:1. It reads, "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions and giving of thanks, be made for all men."

Garbage Bag Suitcase: A MEMOIR (foster care awareness) with Shenandoah Chefalo

    in Family

Garbage Bag Suitcase: A MEMOIR (foster care awareness) with Shenandoah Chefalo

Shenandoah's dreams for a stable childhood were shattered: the money she earned working at the local grocery store was taken by her foster parents to "cover her expenses." When she was in the hospital for three weeks due to serious injuries from a car accident, no one came to visit her. She realized she was more alone than before.

Despite her heartbreaking circumstances, Shenandoah overcame adversities and became part of the 3% of all foster care children who get into college, and the 1% who graduate. Despite becoming a successful businesswoman and having a daughter of her own, she still suffers the long-term effects of her neglected childhood. In "Garbage Bag Suitcase," she shares her story in hope of spurring immediate change that needs to take place within the system, and what we all can do to help these children.

Shenandoah Chefalo is a graduate of Michigan State University, holding a Bachelor of Arts with a major in interdisciplinary studies in social science, a Core Essentials Graduate from Coach U, a Certified Law of Attraction Advanced Practitioner and a member of the Foster Leaders Movement. She is a sought after speaker on topics surrounding youth in foster care.

Can You Stand It? A Dont' Come out of a Bag, Wednesday

    in Entertainment

Hey there Tea Sippers!!  Today, I am going to get a little serious with you and then I want to have some FUN....It's another installment of "Don't Come out of a Bag, Wednesday" and YOU are my Co-host!!!  We can and will talk about any and everything that is on your mind, right here.....RIGHT NOW..... BUT.. if you decide to come out of a bag on me, I will be obliged to come out of a Bigger Bag on YOU!

Here are the things that are on my mind this week:

The Zika Virus:  Isn't it strange for a "new" virus  to be introduced to the public that has been NAMED and research has been CONCLUDED on it enough to let people know what it is??  Why does it live and is passed on thru mosquitos?  What kind of virus is this that it is not only passed on thru insects, but sexual contact as well??
The Religious Freedom Act:  What is going on in the world that we have become so obssessed wtih the LGBT community again??  This Religious Freedom Act bill has been sprouting up across the country and now other states, Mississippi, North Carolina, and Tennessee along with Georgia are up in arms about making sure this bill or what is similar to it passes.  This is LEGALIZED discrimination on ALL FRONTS and folks don't want to admit that!  Aren't businesses already protected and have the power to refuse service to anyone?  So, WHY is this bill needed to protect Faith bases churches and businesses? There is a bigger picture here....something else is going on and we have been blind sided again...the question is WHAT??
The Educational System:  I want to tackle this from another angle;  TheSchool Uniform.  WHY is it that the skirts on these girls are showing off ENTIRELY TOO MUCH LEG and not enough skirt???

    Friendly Fire

    in Podcasting

Whether you are being taught about life or being used to teach someone else, we all experience Karma. For happiness, it is best to stay on the positive side more than the negative. To ensure you are living up to your goal, daily checks of self awareness and ownershp of our actions is required. One cannot go through their life unaware of their actions; when life continues to allow for them to make better decisions. At some point, you are responsible for your decisions to choose poorly.

When you make positive decisions, you get back positive experiences. When you make poor decisions, you get back negativity. Your life is based of the decisions and reactions you make daily. Did you knowingly choose to put someone in a negative place by being decentful. Or you knowingly causing issues for a person because of your own thoughts? Are you being fake? All these things bring it back to your doorstep. When you are wanting happiness, this is the opposite way to go through your life.

The Helios Biblios Hour (book of the SUN) : May Day The Destiny of America pt2

    in Current Events

Over one hundred years have passed since that first May Day. In the earlier part of the 20th century, the US government tried to curb the celebration and further wipe it from the public's memory by establishing "Law and Order Day" on May 1. We can draw many parallels between the events of 1886 and today. We still have locked out steelworkers struggling for justice. We still have voices of freedom behind bars as in the cases of Mumia Abu Jamal and Leonard Peltier. What is the origin of mayday as a distress signal The term Mayday is used internationally as a distress signal in voice procedure radio communications. It derives from the French venez m'aider, meaning “come help me”. It is used to signal a life-threatening emergency by many groups, such as police forces, pilots, firefighters, and transportation organizations.Draco’s story and his infamous Draconian Laws, offers us much food for thought and teaches us numerous political lessons. Draco, though commissioned by the majority of his co-citizens, and not the “gods” like his predecessors, failed to deliver a people-friendly legal system. Instead, he became notorious for delivering one of the most inhumane and harshest legal codes the world has ever known. Nevertheless, from the ashes of that failure a revolutionary system slowly emerged which would soon set the foundation for a significant portion of modern law and politics in the Western world.
