Whether you embrace Christmas or not, the holiday season brings a level of expectation and stress that everyone feels. You can decide whether you want to find the miracles in the simple or be resentful.
Join me on Monday November 30 at 8PM PST and let's chat about how you get through the season gracefully . Remember your recovery is the most important focus of your life and with that comes miracles, gratitude and joy.
My books, Building Blocks of Recovery are on Amazon and make a perfect holiday gift. Helping your loved one to have an amazing year of focused recovery will be a gift that keeps giving.
Also please help with the kickstarter.com campaign and help me bring healing music to veterans, those with PTSD, addiction, anxiety and depression. $1 will make such a big difference to help get the music to where it is needed the most, in the hearts of those who are hurting.
Here we go countdown to Christmas, and the holidays. Holidays are a time of reflection and remembrance and a time to celebrate the people in our lives. For many survivors this is a time of year where these memories are only pain. The pain of those who would not or could not wait for us to heal. Because of the amount of time it takes to come back from a brain injury people forget and discount us one by one. Till in many cases no one is left. And by the time the survivor gets a chance to see any clarity after brain injury their whole life has crumbled into ashes.
As each year passes the memories become harder and more painful. So overwhelming to one’s soul that the hope for death is our greatest hope. A hope for peace. We the survivors are no longer a part of the life we once had. We never had a chance. The thoughts that race through our heads, the thoughts of not being worth it to a single person. And anyone who might be the slightest part of our life have discounted us and gone, mental and hopeless. Yet here we are trapped inside this vessel that was who we were ignored, disliked and misunderstood.
Like it or not we have been called to a higher purpose whatever that means. But find that purpose we must because the powers of darkness and negativity are there constantly to remind us of our unworthiness. Together we can help each other discover our individual purposes that is the glue to the universe. Yes our loss is tragic and hard, and feels so unfair. But we were picked by the universe for something greater than ourselves. And like it or not it is our destiny, a destiny that we can live or fight.
Share you journey tonight, help create a discussion that can be shared to help other begin their journey!
SHOW # 296 – Live Uncut & Uncensored Conversations With “Musicians You Should Know”
The Jimmys are out of Wisconsin. The Jimmys have been tearing up stages with their blend of blues, soul, funk and R&B for nearly 10 years. Award-winning keyboardist/singer/songwriter Jimmy Voegeli has assembled an all-star lineup: Perry Weber, veteran guitarist/singer/songwriter; Mauro Magellan (Georgia Satellites) drums; John Wartenweiler bass. I’ll chat with Jimmy (and maybe more) about their journeys to find each other and where the band is heading while we listen to music from the new album, Hot Dish.
Chris Yakopcic has actually been on the show from the International Blues Challenge in the past, so it was time to bring him onto the Monday show…and with the release of his new album, The Next Place I Leave. I’ll chat with Chris about his road to the Blues and the new album and more.
Steve Howell heard Mississippi John Hurt at the age of 13 and things were never the same since. Throughout his life he has performed and learned and grew his skills. His latest album, Yes I Believe I Will, is recorded with a trio of friends affectionately known as the Mighty Men and Steve and I will explore his travels and music.
Georgie Bonds has a new album entitled Hit It Hard. Georgie will come back and we will chat about what he has been up to since his last visit. We’ll also explore the new album and the music Georgie is making.
