This week we have one of those rare Saturday night NASCAR races, which means the Frat House Sports Gang has “The FHS Garage” open late on Friday in preparation for the mile and a half at Texas Motor Speedway.
Before that though, their looking back at the dominating results from Kyle Busch at Martinsville Speedway, and the current driver standings through six races.
The guys are then joined by special guest Christian Koelle of The NASCAR News Source to weigh-in on the early season results; the praise for the low downforce; Tony Stewart’s immediate and long-term future; who might be this season’s “dark horse” and the fun Rookie-of-the-Year competition between Ryan Blaney and Chase Elliott.
Finally, the guys break down what we might expect tomorrow at Texas Motor Speedway. Sidekick’s got some Fantasy NASCAR recommendations for today; and, it’s getting competitive at the top of the leaderboard in the Frat House Sports’ Eat-My-Dust Winners Pick.
Tune-in to THE BEST pre-race sports talk show with Frat House Mike, Sidekick, Brandon, and YOUR calls at 347 – 826 – 9964. Check in to the Frat House Sports Garage at 7 p.m. ET!
The Frat House Sports Gang has the “Garage” open today at 11 a.m. ET getting ready for the big 500-lap race at “The Paperclip”, Martinsville Speedway.
The guys are reviewing the standings after 5-races so far in this very long season, and while the regulars have been winning so far making for a bit of a yawner when it comes to the winners; the youngsters like Chase Elliott, Austin Dillon, and Ryan Blaney have certainly shown each week that they are coming to race and you got to think it’s just a matter of time for all of them . . . perhaps sooner than later.
Perhaps today though might be the day we see a dark horse or “Villanova-type” Cinderella win a grandfather clock . . . at least by the look of the qualifying order.
Concussions have suddenly become a thing in NASCAR. At least, they’re grabbing the headlines and we’ll chat about the recent comments from Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jimmie Johnson. Meanwhile, former Hendrick teammate Jeff Gordon just got shunned.
Frat House Mike brings an NHRA Drag Racing update from Las Vegas; Sidekick’s got some Fantasy NASCAR recommendations for today; and, it’s getting competitive at the top of the leaderboard in the Frat House Sports’ Eat-My-Dust Winners Pick.

If last week was “The Smoke Show”, this is “The JGR Hour”. We’ve talked all season about the dominance of Joe Gibbs Racing and it continues today coming out of Richmond.
Carl Edwards did the unthinkable last week bumping his own teammate Kyle Busch in the last final half lap to win his second-in-a-row. Is that “just racing”, or is there an “unwritten rule” someplace? How much does this create a teammate rift, and are we seeing a new more aggressive Carl Edwards this season?
Tony Stewart returned last week exactly as Sidekick predicted – good enough for us to all complain that he sucks. BUT, his “lug nuts rant” got NASCAR attention as they addressed the rules. Is anyone really surprised by that?
But man oh man, to be a fly-on-the-wall at Friday night’s Driver’s Council meeting where Brian France showed up unexpectedly and apparently, left it lively.
Today we’re at Talladega – one of Frat House Mike’s favorites, a superspeedway – and we’ll be giving our thoughts on outcomes and “Big Ones” here; plus an NHRA update at #6 in Houston Texas; Sidekick’s got some Fantasy NASCAR recommendations; and, it’s getting VERY competitive on the Frat House Sports’ Eat-My-Dust Winners Pick leaderboard particularly after last week.

And she shares these experiences in the book. But mostly she has culled the essences of her workshops, working with women around the world who share these same frustrations and anxieties. Women who give until all the life juices are drained.
On this episode of Talking in Circles, we break down the weekend that was at Richmond International Raceway. Carl Edwards moved Kyle Busch out of the way on the final lap to win his 27th career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race.
Was that the correct move for Carl? Should Kyle invoke some revenge?
We'll give our Attaboys and surprises and talk about the points. Who is in danger of missing the Chase?
Also we'll discuss the news of the week: NASCAR has instituted a new lug nut rule starting this weekend at Talladega Superspeedway. We'll give our thoughts on that and talk about how NASCAR can police this.
Plus Tony Stewart was fined $35k for comments about lug nuts, then NASCAR instutites the rule. Should NASCAR revoke the fine and how bad does the sport look. What made Stewart made those comments and why did the Driver's Council pay the fine?
Several media members have complained about Tony Stewart being eligable for the win at Talladega, even though he's gonna have a subsitute driver. We'll discuss our feelings on that.
Plus, it's going to be a wild weekend at Talladega Superspeedway. We'll preview the double-header weekend and take your phone calls at 917-889-8280.
