  • Karen Chaston on Win's Women of Wisdom

    in Motivation

On Win's Women of Wisdom today, Best Selling Author, Win Kelly Charles welcomes Karen Chaston: “Inspiring Women to Empower Themselves.” She is a wife, mother, author, speaker, former CFO publicly listed company, BraveHeart Women Resonator. Surprisingly, it took her son’s death for her to become more aware, grateful, healthier, energised and live in my Essence. Whilst Karen was perceived to be very successful, actually she was living a ground hog day existence, working, eating, and drinking too much, always in  fight mode, her masculine totally denying her feminine side,  running on empty, not fulfilled, not understanding that adrenalin in a woman’s body causes  burnout, exhaustion, and disconnectedness. Karen now inspires women to become their own best friend and live in their Essence. Creating more “conscious entrepreneurs”; who allow heart and soul, as well as knowledge and expertise, to guide their businesses. To learn more about Karen visit http://www.karenchaston.com.au. MICHAEL TOBIAS, WORLD-RENOWNED ECOLOGICAL PHILOSOPHER AND ACTIVIST

    in Culture

ENVISION THIS: The entire biosphere is a symphony that we must not silence

Dr. Michael Charles Tobias and Jane Gray Morrison are world-renowned ecological philosophers and activists, interdisciplinary social and environmental scientists and broad-ranging, deeply committed humanists.  One of their foremost concerns is the 'anthropology of conscience,' which emphasizes humanity's capacity for non-violence, compassion, and tolerance. They are strong advocates for animal rights. Their book, The Metaphysics of Protection, is a lyrical paean to the Earth and the complex roots of her current biological crisis. It focuses on the underpinnings of the human condition and the prospects for a viable future for all sentient beings.

Michael and Jane have been married for more than a quarter-of-a-century. Their field research across the disciplines of comparative literature, anthropology, the history of science and philosophy, ecology and ethics, in over 80 countries, has served as a telling example of what two people – deeply in love with one another – can accomplish in spreading that same unconditional love to others – of all species. Between them, they have authored some 50 books and written, directed and produced some 170 films, a prolific body of work that has been read, translated and/or broadcast around the world.

    in Movies

Host Betty Jo Tucker reviews Danny Collins and Manglehorn, two recent movies starring Oscar-winner Al Pacino. Plus, noted film critics James Colt Harrison and Diana Saenger drop by to talk about their favorite Pacino movies and performances. Considered by many to be one of the greatest actors in all of film history, Pacino began his movie career in Me, Natalie, a 1969 motion picture starring Patty Duke, Elsa Lancaster and James Farentino. He now boasts over 50 acting credits on IMDb. His awards include a Best Actor Academy Award for Scent of a Woman and additional Oscar nominations for Dog Day Afternoon, Glengarry Glen Ross, Dick Tracy, The Godfather, Serpico, And Justice For All and Godfather: Part II.

2015 has been a very good year for Pacino. His impressive performances in Manglehorn and Danny Collins are winning rave reviews. He nails both characters and makes viewers care what happens to them despite the many mistakes they’ve made in the past. Manglehorn’s destructive obsession and Danny Collins’ relentless search for redemption seem so real because of Pacino’s ability to get inside each man’s heart and soul.
