The Misadventures of Cowhead: Cowhead's Big Move

"Moving can be hard on anyone, so imagine what a young cow goes through when she moves to a new neighborhood!

The little calf named Cowhead must leave behind all her friends when she and her family move to a new neighborhood. This makes her sad and lonely; because she’s afraid she may not be able to make new friends. Cowhead meets mean Gloria Goose, who teases her about her large head. Then Cowhead meets Dee Dee Duck, who becomes the calf’s best friend. Dee Dee teaches Cowhead that it’s OK to be different. This story also shows kids that moving away and meeting new friends can be challenging, but can also be fun and quite wonderful."

The Misadventures of Cowhead: Cowhead’s Big Move is Charlene Peterson’s first children’s book. She is planning a series of Cowhead stories and other children’s books as well, all with a learning theme. Her young daughters’ antics motivated her to write the series and she envisions a plush doll to go with the books.

Dave The Caregiver's Caregiver & His Wife, Charlene Nassaney's Amazing Story

    in Caregiving

Join Dave Nassaney, The Caregiver's Caregiver, and his lovely wife, Charlene Nassaney's Amazing story of survival, but not just survival, living abundantly with peace, joy and contentment in the midst of a debilitating stroke and a cafregiver spouse.

Original broadcast airs this Wednesday, 8/12/15, and anytime afterwards on recorded podcast at the same link.

Charlene’s story is truly amazing, and very encouraging to everyone.  All who meet her instantly fall in love with her. She has been described as a cross between Martha Stewart and Wonder Woman before her stroke, and it is not uncommon for some who meet her to cry — not tears of pity — but tears of joy and amazement for her attitude and ability despite her disability. Her way of communicating without words is very interesting and very entertaining to experience.

She is also a woman of great faith.  At times, we all wonder how we would respond, if a similar circumstance were to happen to us, or to one of our family. She has been non-verbal and paralyzed on one side since September, 1996 as a result of an unexpected, and unexplained stroke.

You truly will be amazed at Charlene’s great positive attitude, which tends to keep our own problems in their proper perspective. Charlene’s story is now an encouraging testimony that inspires anyone who hears it.

Grief Counselor, Author, Psychotherapist & Exec Coach, Dr. Todd Fisher

    in Caregiving

Dr. Todd learned at the age of 28 that he had most of the traits of attention deficit disorder (ADD) and then later a type of dyslexia. Finally, he thought, there was a reason for his thoughts and actions over the years! Since then, he discovered what works for him, and so he helped many others to harness their own gifts. He found what worked to increase brain performance and how to increase productivity. He practiced as a psychotherapist and consultant for over 10 years and today he is committed to practicing as a consultant and executive coach assisting entrepreneurs, leaders, and companies to increase performance and happiness. This formula also works very well with caregivers to increase their happiness. Contact him at www.DrToddFisher.com

Join Dave Nassaney, The Caregiver's Caregiver, author of numerous articles and books, speaker, life coach, and radio talk-show host for caregivers who are burned out, but his most important role is being a caregiver to his lovely wife, Charlene. His latest book that he is now working on is entitled: The Caregiver's Caregiver, A Guide to Avoiding Burnout. It is designed to teach caregivers who are taking care of their loved ones (due to an illness or disability) how to take care of themselves FIRST. If they don't learn this, they will likely suffer burnout and become as helpless as the person they are caring for. Tune in every Wednesday at noon, PST,for interviews with experts in the caregiving field, as they discuss topics of great interest to caregivers, which will help them avoid burnout. www.DaveTheCaregiversCaregiver.com

Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN) - 1221

    in Self Help

Tonight's special guest is Charlene Niemi from Newbury Park, CA, a Nursing PhD candidate at Azusa Pacific University in California. She's conducing a research study where she hopes to discover predictors that will facilitate the psychological well-being of adult male survivors of childhood sexual abuse by Catholic priests. Specifically, she'll examine, as possible mediators, such factors as meaning in life, personal resilience and forgiveness. John from the Morris Center suggested NAASCA to Charlene as an organization that might be able to help her in her work. We were happy to assist. When one answers the survey they read, "The study for which you are being asked to participate is designed to understand the role meaning in life, personal resilience, and forgiveness have in the psychological well-being of adult male survivors of childhood sexual abuse by Catholic priests. Your participation will help improve the knowledge that these factors have in psychological well-being. With that goal in mind I need your help." We wish Charlene every success!
