    Midnight Meditation with CharLena

    in Spirituality

    Tonight's topic: Focus

What are your desires? Are you realistic? Do you have to be? Are you achieving your desires?

Join me tonight as we practice focusing, feeling and fulfilling our desires.

Relieve the stressors in your life as we explore various meditation processes. Experience the release of the stressors from your week, while re-awakening your love for your life. All it takes is listening to your breath and the guided meditation as you inhale, hold and exhale on a count of 8 - 4 - 4. Be open to the relaxation that is yours when you put your intention behind the desires of your heart through meditation.

Apologies for last week's gaff. I could not get into my studio website as I was not in my regular spot during the broadcast. I was babysitting my niece.

Said El Harrak Joins the FNU Combat Sports Show!

    in Sports

This week we chat with Pro Boxer Said El Harrak (12-2-2, 7 KOs), who will be facing Chris Pearson (11-0, 9 KOs) on the Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr. undercard on May 2nd. Born in London, El Harrak relocated to California as a young teenager and had an impressive amateur career. He turned pro in 2008 and won his first eight fights, leading to a ShoBox bout against fellow unbeaten Lanard Lane. The 5’11 El Harrak, who scaled in at 157 pounds for a bout two months prior to meeting Lane, took extreme measures to make 144 pounds for the opportunity. Unfortunately, he was unable to rehydrate and suffered a second round stoppage. After a three fight unbeaten streak, he lost a controversial split decision to contender Jesus Soto Karass on AztecaAmerica. Following the debatable setback, El Harrak scored two straight third round stoppages and battled to a draw against 17-2 Luis Grajeda. El Harrak will give us his thoughts on this huge opportunity and tell us about his boxing career in the second hour of the show. Tom, Tony and Rich also take our listeners through the week's combat sports news, results and events.

Education Canaries: Can data rich systems predict and prevent failure?

    in Education

One of the significant promises of big data in education is to predict and prevent student failure. Of course we want to see learners succeed and data can help us with that as well, however, catching students before they get lost or even drop out is essential. Some visionaries see technology as driving learning through increasingly intelligent prompts, assessments of learning, and directing learners to ever more complex and advanced concepts… all driven by models for learning driven by student generated data. More recently many educational leaders have a more holistic view of data and recognize that while we need to educate the whole child, we need to also look at information about the whole child to diagnose and address learning deficiencies and help students on a path where they can be successful. Beyond their inherent interest in helping children, educators and the institutions in which they work are being held accountable to show learner progress. In this show we will explore the many different kinds of data that can be used to monitor student progress, identify those who require assistance, and the systems that make sense of those data to support educators and parents in driving student success.

    Guests at the table:

Barbara Clements,  Consultant at ESP Solutions Group
Dan Ginsberg, VP Global Product Strategy at Pearson
Bill Meade, Data Science Director at Neal Analytics

    Throw-Away Families

    in Religion

Have you ever felt like your family is messed up?  Crazy?  Dysfunctional?  Your parents just don't understand you?  That crazy relative just said WHAT?  What does God have to say in His Word about "dysfunctional" people and families?  Plenty!  Most of the people we remember from the Bible, we remember because they totally blew it.  Betrayal, adultery, idol worship, murder...its all in there.  You know what, though?  God redeems.  He redeemed the worst of the worst.  Listen this week as Dr Pauline and Catherine talk about God's awesome power of redemption and how He can redeem you and your dysfunctional family, too.  As always, we welcome your comments and questions through Facebook (Dunamas Center Ministries), and Twitter (@YourDunamasLife).
