The Mirage has a tourist trap called the Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat, though the public prefers the Dolphin Death Pool. These dolphins are subjected to the unforgiving Mojave sun as well as fumes from the highways surrounding Sin City. MGM properties are the largest owners on the Strip, and we will not let them get away with animal abuse any longer!

I believe passionately that it is time for our relationship with cetaceans to evolve--beyond the inspiration, exhilaration, wisdom and healing we receive from the whales to move on to accelerating our giving back to the whales--by helping those in physical form who face and suffer from myriad threats of human activity on the earth. With such reciprocity our relationships with whales are more balanced, mutually healing and whole. We'll talk about how relating to whales and dolphins (and all animals) using all of our chakras--not just from the heart chakra up--not only helps the animals but raises own consciousness and wholeness as well.
Teresa’s conscious connection with whales began with her first encounter with a humpback whale in 1988. The experience changed her life irrevocably, prompting a shift from a corporate career to becoming a professional animal communication consultant.
She co-founded the Captive Whale Healing Initiative, telepathically communicating with individual whales in captivity to bring them loving companionship, empathic emotional support, and energy healing.
She has had an animal communication practice for over 25 yrs. She is the author of Legacies of Love, A Gentle Guide to Healing From the Loss of an Animal Loved One and collaborater: Dolphins and Whales Forever.

Sam Duncombe, founder of reEarth achieved a victory in the fight against marine mammal captivity. ReEarth, an environmental group, had brought a judicial review against the government and Blue Illusions Ltd out of concern for process and marine life protection and sought the revoking of licences to import the dolphins and to have them moved to an appropriate location.
reEarth is a nonprofit, community based environmental watch group, founded in 1990, dedicated to increasing public awareness and understanding of environmental issues. For more on the issues reearth focus on visit their about page.

On March 28, 2014 Save the Blood Dolphins and dolphin advocates from all over the world, including Ric O’Barry star of “The Cove” and Director of the Ric O’Barry Dolphin Project, are planning a huge demonstration at The World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA) headquarters in Switzerland. The demonstrators are demanding WAZA end their silence and cut ties with the cruel dolphin drive fisheries in Taiji, Japan, and the captive industry that cannot sustain itself without the infusion of wild dolphins: “The number of dolphins bred in captivity does not replace the number that die. They suffer from high mortality rates, low breeding success and often endure physical and psychological disorders. Cetacea are frequently captured from the wild and sold into captivity.”
