(137) Facebook friends, Flag flying Colorado Springs
The Joy of having Friends on Facebook THANK YOU to Jenn Zerfas for displaying my Flag over Colorado Springs after climbing the "incline", and to Tony Barnes who helped set this up.
This is just so cool to see this again THANK YOU to both of you
I have done a couple of Shows with Tony Barnes and it was through him that somehow I connected via the cloud with Jenn Zerfas, Who then ran my flag up to the Manitou Incline and took a picture
Another stop on that flags Journey to all kinds of places
I did 6.5 years in the Army (99-06). Kosovo Jan 2001- April 2001.
Married with two kids (ages 2 and 3 years old).
I work in medical boards at Evans Army Community Hospital on Fort Carson. I help process paperwork and help Soldiers transition out of the military due to medical conditions. I have been working at the hospital for almost 12 years
I run up the mountains for sanity, Exercise. Accomplishments. To see the beauty at the top of the world. Serenity. Pushing myself to go 2000 + feet in the climb straight up the mountain is vigorous. I do it purely for the intense workout and some alone time. The view at the top is breath taking. I am my best motivator and I have to remember that. I respect the mountains and I love the peace that I get when I do this. It humbles me every time I get to the top. I never get tired of doing the incline at Manitou.

Mind Health Matters with Dr. Bernie Siegel
Theme: The Power of the Placebo
The intuitive wisdom and ability of authors to see the truth about life
Excerpt from Dr. Bernie’s Book: Peace, Love & Healing: Bodymind Communication & The Path To Self-Healing An Exploration:
"That's the most interesting thing of all. The balance depends on the man's frame of mind! Understand? Which means that if he's cheerful and firm in spirit, there will be more sodium in the barrier; and no sickness, none whatever, will bring him to his death. But as soon as he loses heart, the potassium gains the upper hand and he might as well order himself a coffin...."
"The physiology of optimism. The idea is sound. Quite sound. . ."
"So I wouldn't be surprised . . . if they discovered some sort of cesium salt in about a hundred years, one that spread out in the organism if there was a clear conscience and didn't if there wasn't. And it will depend on that cesium salt whether the cells of the tumor will grow or whether the tumor will clear up."
Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, Cancer Ward

SHOW NOTES: In the MYTH WARRIORS™ series we are targeting ideas to begin to assess whether they are credible or not. The topic for this episode is, “Taking college courses online is easy!”
This is a myth. If you already have completed one or more college degrees, it is a myth yet you have a higher probability of success with this modality of college classes (as college classes are not easy whether online or on campus).
Is it “true” that many people are taking online college courses? Yes.
“According to Columbia University’s Community College Research Center, for example, about seven million students — about a third of all those enrolled in college — are enrolled in what the center describes as traditional online courses.” (http://www.nytimes.com/2013/02/19/opinion/the-trouble-with-online-college.html?_r=0)
If everyone is doing it (i.e., it is popular), it must be easy, right? Wrong.
“Students preferred direct instruction if they expected a course to be difficult, singling out math and science [...]. They also preferred a face-to-face setting when studying subjects they considered interesting or important, especially if the class was in their major. Many of the students said they learned more when the instructor is present.” (http://articles.latimes.com/2013/apr/25/local/la-me-ln-study-online-20130425)
“[C]ourses delivered solely online may be fine for highly skilled, highly motivated people, but they are inappropriate for struggling students who make up a significant portion of college enrollment and who need close contact with instructors to succeed.[…]” (http://www.nytimes.com/2013/02/19/opinion/the-trouble-with-online-college.html?_r=0)
(John 1:14) And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Tonight we seek and explore this revelation of the nature and power of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We will take callers for prayer and prophetic ministry.
