Technically, Cereus Bright is Tyler Anthony and Evan Ford, two young folk musicians from Knoxville, TN. Their songs showcase strong, passionate harmonies singing stories of real life—hope and heartbreak, adventure and stillness. Tyler plays guitar, piano, and sings, while Evan sings backup while playing lead guitar and mandolin. They frequently play with bassist Matt Nelson and drummer Luke Bowers.
Ideologically, though, Cereus Bright makes a strong case for folk music. Recently the genre of folk music has come to mean “acoustic pop”, and all seems to blend together in a post-Mumford and Sons mush. Real folk, though, is meant to communicate; to use simple, melodic music to communicate stories of success and heartbreak. This is the goal of Cereus Bright—to draw you in with beautiful composition and keep you interested and moved with poetic yet direct lyrics. Comparisons with bands such as the Avett Brothers, Fleet Foxes, and the Head and the Heart are inevitable, and are major compliments.
The band finds its muse—and its name—from the Cereus flower: a white desert flower that blooms only at night. Just as this flower grows in the most desolate of settings, so does art draw its beauty from brokenness and heartache. In their lyrics and melodies, Cereus Bright aims to embrace life as both messy and beautiful.
Cereus Bright just released its first recording, Goldmine EP, on November 12, 2012. They’ve reached sustained success in their hometown of Knoxville, TN, and are branching out to the surrounding area, playing in Tennessee, Georgia, the Carolinas, and beyond.

"Begin your discovery and become a student of franchising while you are following the path to launching and growing your franchis system." These powerful words by Shelly Sun from her book, Grow Smart Risk Less are much more than advice for others. They're words Sun continues to live by as she has truly become a student of franchising (and teacher and advocate) and the success of her brand, BrightStar Care is evidence of her commitment to sustainable and sensible franchising.
This week on Franchise Today, co-hosts Stan Friedman and Paul Segreto discuss with Shelly Sun the trials and tribulations of becoming a world-class franchisor. In addition to improving unit-economics and growing BrightStar beyond US borders, Shelly also focuses on issues affecting franchising such as recent NLRB ruling on 3rd party employers and $15 per hour minimum wage, and the reasons behind her generosity of both time and resources to causes and industry events alike. As 2009 IFA Entrepreneur of the Year, Shelly also shares her thoughts on entrepreneurship, a timely subject as this week's show airs during Global Entrepreneurship Week.
Franchise Today airs LIVE Wednesdays at 11AM CT / 12PM ET with on-demand access on iTunes.
in Self Help
Given her many nocturnal experiences with sudden energy downloads, light-being visitations, telepathic wisdom being imparted and spectral family members checking in, she has handled her experiences with uncommon aplomb, knowing that they were all part of her path to raising her consciousness so she could become the internationally renowned and powerful healer, intuitive, coach and spiritual activator that she is today.
And since she has previously blazed this path, she now offers to be a guide for others through her book "You're Not Crazy, You're Awakening!" It allows people to embrace their multi-dimensional self, get comfortable with unexpected experiences that are helping them to raise their frequency, and give a hearty welcome to benevolent beings waiting in the wings to help the transition.
More than that, she charts a course anyone-even those who haven't had such experiences-can follow to access the realm of higher consciousness. Filled with keen wisdom, practices and processes, this book opens the door for someone to become a "conscious thinker." Dr. Edwige touches on a wide variety of subjects to advance awakening-soul retrieval, clearing and clarifying energy, astral travel and grounding, past-life regression, heart-opening exercises, lucid dreaming, living a multi-dimensional existence, visualization and intentional manifesting, integrating life force energy, spiritual empowerment, rejection of and power over non-beneficial energies, and methods to increase one's vibrational level.
