SORT BY Relevancy
As a career strategist, executive recruiter and hiring manager for 25+ years, these positions gave me an unobstructed, 20/20 view of both sides of the interviewer’s desk. I learned a great deal about the mistakes made by candidates applying for jobs as well as the techniques and strategies used by hiring managers to screen those very same candidates.
I wanted to find a way for job seekers like you to reduce that leverage by applying some leverage of your own. I concluded that you needed to grasp, master and integrate four critical skills:
1. Exceptionally effective networking
2. Thinking and acting like the CEO of a large corporation
3. Developing a bulletproof value proposition to make you as attractive as possible to decision-makers, and
4. Expertise at following a precisely-targeted 7-step job search methodology that leads you directly to an interview.
In order to do this, I realized it would be necessary to set up a highly specialized networking and career management training organization.

Persuasively discussing your strengths and how they can benefit the employer requires some preparation. Find out how to best deliver responses/answers that work best for business owners and will work great for you as the CEO of Me, Inc. On this episode of Own Your Career, Rod will address and answer difficult interview questions from the CEO of Me, Inc. perspective. You don’t want to miss this episode.
In this episode I will discuss the importance of knowing your value.
You don’t have to be Sigmund Freud to know that people with low self-esteem frequently demean themselves in their interactions with others. Unfortunately, this is something that frequently requires professional counseling.
I don’t perform psychoanalysis; I prefer that people who have self-esteem issues find solutions by working with their own community of behavioral health care professionals, particularly since there is no longer any stigma attached to seeking psychiatric treatment. This is important because running your career as a business (the CEO of Me, Inc.) relies heavily on your ability to project confident, positive and assertive behaviors. The quicker the treatment for poor self-esteem, the sooner the positive results will become reflected in your career management program.

High Falls Film Festival premiered "From the Rough" - based on the true story of Catana Starks, on April 25th at the Little Theatre.

It’s well known in the career management space that many networkers and job seekers are afraid to pick up the phone and call potential decision-makers. They believe their nervousness will show up in the quality of their voice. Or maybe they’re afraid of stumbling over their own words during the conversation.
But let’s think about this for a minute. Do you really mean to tell me that you don’t want to call someone? Someone who could be the answer to your job search problems? Someone who could pave the way for an interview? Why not? If you’re not willing to call someone who might be able to help you, then you absolutely need to get some personal coaching for your phone-o-phobia. If you can’t get this corrected, a key channel of communications is cut off for you — and in the thick of a job search, that’s a clear invitation for failure.
Quickly researching a company, a department and members of the interviewing team is now a breeze. In this episode of Own Your Career, host Rod Colon will guide the listener in how to best gather quality information needed for the interview. Businesses do it all the time ... it is now time for the CEO of Me, Inc. to step-up and leverage the same techniques.
