Think about the last trip you took. How many stops did you have to make before you reached your destination? Of course, it depends on whether we're talking about a trip to the grocery store or a trip across the country. What about a vacation or a business trip?
Did you fly or drive? You might have taken a train. A lot depends on when you left, how long you planned to be gone, where you were going and why.
In order to reach Empowerment, there is only one way to get there - on the road. You cannot skip ahead by catching a flight. You cannot sleep through the trip by taking a train and leave the navigation to someone else. You must get in your vehicle and drive along the road.
There will be dirt roads that boil up dust with every turn of your tires. There will roads that are full of potholes and are badly in need of repaving. There will be some smooth surfaces and you'll think it's going to be a smooth ride the rest of the way.
You will run into road blocks, traffic jams, railroad crossings, road construction and detours. Why, oh why did you decide to start out on this journey? But you know the answer to that and you can't quit now.
Join Teresa Beeman for a discussion of 13 Stops Along the Road to Empowerment.
This program is brought to you by the Center for Empowered Women and can be heard every Monday and Wednesday at 11:00 am Eastern time.
If you remember the old Helen Reddy song, "I Am Woman", she talks about learning and experiencing and refusing to go back to what she was before.
She talks about gaining wisdom and being strong.
This song is the epitome of becoming an Empowered Woman.
Powerful women are not always empowered. Why? Because powerful is what someone can see on the outside. Empowered is what you feel on the inside.

Happy Veteran's Day and a heartfelt thank you to all the Veterans who have served our country. Thank you for the freedoms we enjoy and the blessings we have because of you.
Today is Teresa Beeman's birthday. She is the host of Center for Empowered Women on BlogTalkRadio and runs the site by the same name.
November is the month when gratitude and thankfulness are uppermost in our minds. While we should be grateful every day of our lives, it seems that November has a way of drawing our attention to our blessings even more than other times of the year.
This morning's show will be focusing on all of these areas. You are encouraged and invited to tune in at 11:00 am Eastern time for "Veteran's Day, Teresa's Birthday and Empowered with Gratitude."

Do you find that Staying Motivated on a daily basis is one of the biggest challenges to your Empowerment? You may not realize it, but even though most of the time you feel Empowered to live life on your terms, something is motivating you to do that. And if you are having a hard time staying inside the Empowerment Zone, lack of Motivation may be one of the areas giving you the most difficulty.
Staying Empowered is what will help you see Success in your endeavors. But how do you stay Motivated every day?
Robert Collier, American author of self-help books said, ""Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out." If you take steps every day and let each step be a building block for the step you will take tomorrow, you will soon have a stong foundation and begin to see your work pay off in many ways.
Taking small steps every day shows that you are staying motivated to make your life go where you want it to go. Does that always mean it's easy? No, of course not. But no one ever said that life would be easy. Worthwhile things seldom are.
Join Teresa Beeman as she gives you 13 Tips for Staying Motivated to Stay Empowered.
This show is brought to you by the Center for Empowered Women. It can be heard every Monday and Wednesday morning at 11:00 am Eastern time.

This may come as a surprise to you, but you don't need anyone's permission to become successful. There is no pre-approval process you have to go through like when you are applying for a mortgage. If you want to become empowered and find your own success, the only person who has to give permission is YOU!
At the Center for Empowered Women you can find all the tools you need to become empowered and successful - and you don't need permission or pre-approval. You just have to be willing to take the steps toward making it happen for yourself.
Join Teresa Beeman this morning for a discussion on why You Are Pre-Approved for Success.

"If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always gotten." Lots of people are credited with that quote - everyone from Henry Ford to Albert Einstein to Mark Twain to motivational speaker, Anthony Robbins.
But in the end, it doesn't really matter who said it. What matters is that it is true. We know that Albert Einstein is the one who said: - "The definition of stupidity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."
So what does that have to do with Building Empires? Everything! If you haven't built at least one empire - personal, buiness or otherwise - you've obviously been doing the same thing you've always done, so you are getting what you have always gotten. And that would appear to be NOT where you want to go!
And if you are doing the same things over and over again, expecting different results, does Einstein's definition describe who you have become?
Ignorance can be cured with education. That means consciously deciding that you are going to change the things you've been doing, figuring out what it is that you really want and then acquiring the knowledge on how to get it.
Unfortunately, stupid is all the way to the bone. Some people just never get past the "poor pititful me; life isn't fair; why do bad things always happen to me" syndrome. Those people cannot be helped unless they change their minds and their attitudes.
Do you want to build an empire in 2014? Join Teresa Beeman as she talks about how Empowered Women Build Empires. It's an 8-part series that starts today and is brought to you by the Center For Empowered Women.
This show airs live at 11:00 am Eastern time on Mondays and Wednesdays, except for holidays.
Ask 100 people if they feel empowered in their lives. Most of them will not give you a straight yes or no answer. They can't because sometimes they feel empowered; sometimes they don't - and that's probably the answer you would hear most often: sometimes.
But the percentage of people who never feel empowered is very high. Too many things have be in place - and all at the same time - for a person to feel totally and completely empowered in his or her life.
What are some of these things? We talk about them all the time, but how often do we think of them as tools of empowerment:
Knowledge that you are living life on your own terms and not someone else's idea of what you ought to be doing
Being open and alert to new possibilities
Making conscious and informed decisions on your own
Accepting that you deserve to live a happy, fulfilling life
Ability to take a deep breath and know that you are doing a good job of navigating the ship that is your life - through calm seas and turbulent weather alike
If your day-to-day activities employ these 7 tools, you are already Empowered to Say Yes - Empowered to Say No.
If you need a little help in some of the areas, join Teresa Beeman and the Center for Empowered Women at 11:00 am Eastern time on Mondays and Wednesdays.
