Downtown Las Vegas. Once the glimmering glitzy core of Las Vegas nightlife, this downtown area has faced an ongoing battery of challenges. The recent economic downturns hit it particularly hard. Over the years, attempts have been made to revitalize this area, with little change. Now an ambitious new endeavor, galvanized in large part by Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh, intends to take another run at it ... and this time it may very well work. The Downtown Project, which is slated to have made substantial progress by the time Zappos moves its corporate headquarters to the area in 2013, has its work cut out for it. But if early signs are any indication, this could work. On today's episode several of the players involved in this effort join Cathy live from downtown Las Vegas to discuss.

Abbreviated episode today focusing on the importance of being centered and grounded when working with your dog. Soon after are hearing and vision but above all else canis familiaris takes its cues from the energy with which the people and animals around it operate. Having a bad day? Feeling angry? Completely out of sorts? Your dog knows. And if you're already having trouble getting your dog to mind you, chances are unlikely that in this state you'll have any better luck. This is a topic we'll address more deeply in future episodes, but for today a quick hit and some tips.
