Root of the Rot IV: the Catholic Reformation and the heresies of Luther
While it is true that the Church at the time of Luther needed reforming, it wasn't a reform in the manner o the massive doctrinal upheaval that this wicked man wrought. Learn about how each heresy of Luther led to widespread problems we face in our society today. Also learn about the Church's fightback through the Council of Trent and the true "renaissance" it birthed.
Join us as His Excellency, Bishop Daniel Dolan, pastor of St. Gertrude the Great Catholic Church in West Chester, Ohio and host Stephen Heiner recount this important part of history that all Catholics should know.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me; and, seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. Hosea 4:6

Contrast this with the Blessed Virgin Mary who represents chastity, modesty, faithfulness, and love of God. She is the purest of God’s creation. Unlike Ishtar and other female goddesses who were worshiped and called “God the Mother“, the Blessed Virgin Mary is called Mother of God. Not because she is a goddess, she is not, but because Catholics recognize Jesus as Divine. He is truly God and man.
The last few weeks we have talked about complicated or difficult people.
This week we are going apply the tool of objectivity. This may involve an overly invested mother-in-law,
a guilting mother of your own, a person with an addiction, or just someone whose opinion you take personally.
I'm sure you are tired of being hurt by the things these challenging people say, the guilt you feel at their
comments, or the anger that they have power over you.
The joy of living your life without guilt is just too good not to strive for. We will break the solution down so you
can apply the answer to any situation. It doesn't matter what belief system you subscribe to: Catholic,
Christian, athiest. We all have the same battle with guilt and shame from stressful people in our lives.
Freedom from shame and guilt are the rewards and are well worth the journey.
