The talented Oscar winning actress Catherine Zeta Jones recent admission of her agonizing struggle with Bipolar Disorder has helped us all see that mental health care is as important and as smart as any other type of health care - and most of all, nothing to hide. Bravo Catherine! Studies have estimated that one in forty Americans have Bipolar Disorder, which is marked by mood swings (formerly known as manic-depression) that can lead to severe impairment. Interestingly, Bipolar Disorder is often linked to creativity and high intelligence - it is now known that Hemingway, Van Gogh and Tchaikovsky shared the disorder in addition to many other Hollywood stars such as Carrie Fisher, Britney Spears and Ben Stiller. In this interesting episode Bobbie looks at some of these examples, the little known signs of this disorder, how stress can be a trigger, and what you can do to help yourself or a loved one if you think you're seeing Bipolar Disorder affecting lives around you.
This episode will discuss Bipolar and the recent announcement by Chatherine Zeta Jones. The show will discuss and define Bipolar, and include treatment, but will also take a look at and examine mental illnesses and the trend of medicating people for signs of depression.

Sharina Annette Jones was born in Pontiac, Michigan. When she was just five years old, Sharina was the victim of a shooting. This event left her unable to walk for the rest of her life. More importantly, however, it was the beginning of the unveiling of Sharina's purpose in life; to inspire others to reach their greatest potential.
After graduating high school she continued her education and attended Mott Community College, earning an Associate's degree; the first in her family to attend college. She continued her education and earned a Bachelor of Science degree at Oakland University, and an MBA from Wayne State University in 2008.
In addition to her academic success, Sharina was crowned Ms. Wheelchair Michigan in 2011. She has used her crown as a platform to impact the lives of others in a positive way. She established the organization, Think Beyond the Chair, to provide hope, healing and resources to others in the community faced with circumstances like hers. Her first book, Life of a Push Goddess, is one of her favorite accomplishments. She is currently writing her second book, Not All Goddesses Are Alike. Her long list of achievements also includes participation in the Detroit Free Press Marathon and tossing out the first ball in a Detroit Tigers opening season game.
But when asked, it is her marriage to Grover Jones in May of 2010 that brings Sharina the most joy. In addition to writing, Sharina enjoys hand cycling, wheelchair basketball and swimming. She and her husband also love to travel; Jamaica being the favorite vacation getaway location.

James Robert Webb is a genuine country boy from Kellyville, Oklahoma who found a love of music before he learned to walk. You never know what instrument James may play live, but you can be sure that his voice will captivate you with a voice that is powerful, tender and uniquely country. Influenced by the great Oklahoma vocalists Garth Brooks, Ronnie Dunn and Vince Gill, Webb has a flair for traditional country with a modern bent. When it comes to country music, Webb's influences lie along the traditional side with modern influences. "I grew up listening to the great vocalists-like Jones, Haggard, Twitty, Rogers, Nelson, and Cash. When the new traditionalists came along like Strait, Garth, Randy Travis--it was the best of both worlds. I fell in love with those meaningful, deep ballads like Unanswered Prayers and Diggin' Up Bones and got to rock out to honky tonk tunes like Hard Workin' Man and Chattahoochie." This mixture of influences is clear in his live show as well as his recordings. Born This Day, the first album release on his fledgling indie label, Bison Creek Records, had two singles on country radio. The first single was the title track, cowritten by Webb, a Christian country Christmas song that saw airplay in 30 US markets and charted #12 on the European Hotdisk chart. His follow up, "Long Hot Winter" peaked at #65 on the US national Music Row Chart.
