The Bodacious Woman Movement Presents: The Women's Round Table
This week's topic: Are You Being Catfished: How Do We Decipher Lovers from Liars?
A catfish is someone who pretends to be someone else through some type of Social Media. This person completely assumes a fake identity and goes the extra mile to make their victim believe that they are exactly who they say they are.
Catfish victims usually end up falling in love with a person that does not exist. For example, a woman may think she is in love with a male model type and in actuality it is a teenage girl behind that computer screen.
Have you or anyone you know been catfished?

The Bodacious Woman Movement was created to promote, honor, and encourage the celebration of womanhood. Consistently, women have fought against all odds to survive, raise families, and pushed to bring about impactful changes in our communities- while making many sacrifices that go unknown and unrecognized. This movement will recognize women who have risen above social and cultural practices, women that are overcoming barriers to achieve a breakthroughs, and most importantly honoring the need for self care and cultivation.
Tonight on "It's Real Talk Radio", we'll be discussing being Catfished and the question of the night is "How would you handle being Catfished?" This show was inspired by the MTV Series "Catfish." For those who aren't familiar with Catfish, it's a term for people who develop romantic connections, feelings, and in some cases, relationships for people they've met online but never face to face only to discover that this person isn't who they said they are. Victims are deceived mentally, physically, emotionally and financially.
The show is interesting but very entertaining and if you haven't seen it, it's highly recommended that you watch it because you can definitely learn some valuable lessons that may save you or one of your friends or family members from being Catfished one day. So let's talk about it. How would you feel if it were you? To find out how we'd handle it, tune in and if you'd like to share your thoughts, experiences, etc, feel free to call in at 347-838-9540 and press 1 on your keypad to speak with us live on air; otherwise, continue to hold and listen to the live show.
With more than 40 million men and women online looking for love, there are bound to be some scam artists out there. A “catfish” is a person who creates a false online identity in the hopes of luring people into romantic relationships. Nev Schulman starred in the 2010 documentary, Catfish, about being drawn in by a woman online claiming to be someone she wasn’t.
Have you ever been CATFISHED? Or better yet, have YOU ever CATFISHED someone? Shame on you if you have.... It's bad enought to play with someone's emontion in person but what kind of state must someone be in to be taken advantage of by someone online that they have not even met in person.
