A Catch Conversation: Safi Kaskas and David Hungerford

    in Religion

Please join us as we continue our series asking the question... do Christians and Muslims worship the same God? In this episode we invite Drs Safi Kaskas and David Hungerford to The Catch on Blog Talk Radio.

They have recently released The Qur'an - with References to the Bible: A Contemporary Understanding.

Drs. Kaskas’ and Hungerford’s underlying motivation for the translation and inclusion of the extensive footnotes are not intended to promote a particular school of Islam or Christian apologetics. These exist in abundance. Their goal is to build bridges of better understanding, undermine radicalism and enlighten ignorance. This powerful instrument offers Muslims and Christians a fresh insight on the “straight path” to reconciling with God and man; sorely needed and missing from other translations.

A Catch Conversation: Do Muslims and Christians worship the same God?

On the heels of John's recent Catch post asking this very question, John invites Tim Gilman and others to a round table discussion on this question.

From the post, John launched the blog with this introduction:

"A Wheaton College professor recently stated that Muslims and Christians worship the same God and lost her job. This has stirred up quite a debate in the echelons of evangelical accuracy that should have gone on before the professor lost her job. It’s a healthy discussion. At least let the teacher keep her job until we figure this out."

You can read the post here.

Tune in to this broadcast of The Catch on Blog Talk Radio as we discuss further.. Do Muslims and Christians worship the same God?
