Avant is a name that has been used in the context of being original or innovative but the singer/songwriter from Cleveland has transformed the word into a powerhouse brand. Since breaking out on the music scene with his first platinum hit singles, “Separated” and “My First Love”—he has been on a non-stop journey having released seven albums in the last 15 years.
Avant has toured with some of the biggest names in the R&B world from Joe, Jagged Edge and Keith Sweat. He is preparing for the new album release, The VIII in September 2015. Luke Christopher isn’t about to wait around for anybody. Instead of relying on singers or producers, the Los Angeles rapper can belt out a hook with the best of them, and he remains an accomplished producer and beat maker in his own right. On his two new EPs YSTRDY and TMRW for ByStorm Entertainment/RCA Records, his singular vision only starts to unfold, encompassing airtight rhymes, cinematic storytelling, keen wit, and a little bit of wisdom.
Growing up in the San Fernando Valley, music surrounded Luke. At a young age, his father turned him on to the likes of Elton John, U2, Michael Jackson, and Stevie Wonder. However, hip-hop found him one Christmas when 2Pac’s All Eyez On Me sat under the tree. In high school, he converted the bottom bed of his bunk beds into a makeshift studio. There, he taught himself how to rap, sing, and compose beats. By his seventeenth birthday, he was ready to be properly heard, and major labels clamored for this strangely soulful and emotionally expansive style.
For the first time since 2003, the Cubs have a postseason victory. Everything about the team's performance last night illustrated just how much progress they've made, along with the elevated level of maturity on a very young and talented team. Can they keep the ball rolling against their hated rival Cardinals in the NLDS?
Can the Bears improving defense slow down Jamaal Charles and the Chiefs offense? And what will Jay Cutler's makeshift offensive line look like this week?

Nicholas Snow welcomes critically acclaimed Writer/Director Billy Clift (of Baby Jane? fame) to discuss not only his career, but his latest film, Hush Up Sweet Charlotte, an homage to the 1964 Hush…Hush Sweet Charlotte film starring the iconic actresses Bette Davis and Olivia de Havilland. The film tells of an aging, reclusive Southern belle with a horrifying hidden family secret. It tracks her descent into madness (with the help of a lost relative) as she fights to save her family’s historic plantation.
In Clift’s film, the leads are parody performances by gender-illusionist superstars Matthew Martin and Varla Jean Merman. The feature role of housekeeper Velma, originally performed by Agnes Moorhead, is played by Mink Stole, made famous by cult film director, John Waters. Other cast members include accomplished comedian/actor Jason Stuart, star of stage and screen David Millbern, rising star Jesse Pepe, Raja Gemini of RuPaul’s Drag Race, plus San Francisco drag icons Katya Smirnoff Skyy, Ethel Merman, Honey Mahogony, Heklina and more.

Come to The Ultimate Retirement Destination in Payson, AZ
Meet Mayor Kenny Evans discussing with January Jones their favorite town in Arizona.
Whether it's the welcoming weather or an abundance of activities that compel you to head for the hills, Payson and Rim Country offers visitors a cool time in a beautiful setting only less than two hours from the Valley.
The rim itself begins just east of the New Mexico border and stretches two thirds of the way across Arizona; the area we refer to as the Rim includes Payson and its smaller neighbors, the communities of Pine, Strawberry, and Christopher Creek.
While decidedly not cosmopolitan - and with an entirely different ambiance than Arizona's other weekend getaways, Sedona and Prescott - the Payson/Pine/Strawberry area is laid-back, picturesque, and chock-full of ways to enjoy the outdoors.
