The Legal Show The Case of Casey Kasem

    in Entertainment

Attorney Sarah Steele and writer Bennet Pomerantz discuss the subjects of the day.

The audience should know that although Ms. Steele is a licensed attorney, she is not offering legal advice in any capacity, is not establishing an attorney/client relationship with anyone listening to the show, and recommends that any listener of the show consult a local attorney for any legal advice they may require.

This show is about us discussing hot topics and how they relate to the law.

Tonight we discuss the topic of estate planning, the rights of the living, and the rights of the nearly deceased.  Casey Kasem, the seminal voice from America’s Top 40, passed away earlier this month. Until the day he passed away, his children and brother were embroiled in a battle with Mr. Kasem’s wife of 33 years.  His children and brother were desperate to see Mr. Kasem, as they were aware of his declining health.  His wife claimed that she was named as his conservator in 2011 and, accordingly, she could say who saw her husband and who could not.  Join Bennet and Sarah as they discuss the legal ins and outs of this emotionally charged case involving one of America’s most beloved celebrities.

Beyond the Airwaves Episode 46 -- Goodbye, Saturday Morning & Casey Kasem

    in Entertainment

This is Beyond the Airwaves: The Infinity Project, where we go beyond the mainstream media and tackle issues that don't seem so important to the major networks.

With the loss of the CW's Saturday morning lineup "Vortexx," it appears the era of the Saturday morning cartoons has finally come to an end, as networks replace the cartoons with more educational-oriented programming. Also, we'll discuss the passing of voice legend Casey Kasem, whom we all remember as the voice of American Top 40, along with some of the most popular cartoon characters of all time (Norville "Shaggy" Rogers, Robin, Cliffjumper, Mark [Battle of the Planets] just to name a few).

Beyond the Airwaves Episode 74 -- Casey Kasem Still ISN'T Laid to Rest Yet!

    in Entertainment

This is Beyond the Airwaves: The Infinity Project, where we go beyond the mainstream media and tackle issues that don't seem so important to the major networks.

Okay, we all know Casey Kasem passed away approximately two months ago, but he still hasn't been officially laid to rest yet! With the ongoing feud between Jean Kasem and the children, it's no surprise. However, it appears Jean wants his final resting place to be Oslo, Norway. Is she doing this just so the kids can't see him at all? We'll discuss this strange story and other interesting topics as time permits.

    DELIVER US-Kathryn Casey

    in Entertainment

Critically acclaimed author Kathryn Casey delivers a riveting account of the brutal murders of young women in the I-45/Texas Killing Fields

Over a three-decade span, more than twenty women—many teenagers—died mysteriously in the small towns bordering Interstate 45, a fifty-mile stretch of highway running from Houston to Galveston. The victims were strangled, shot, or savagely beaten. Six met their demise in pairs. They had one thing in common: being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The day she vanished, Colette Wilson waited for her mother after band practice. Best friends Debbie Ackerman and Maria Johnson loved to surf and were last seen hitchhiking. Laura Kate Smither dreamed of becoming a ballerina and disappeared just weeks before her thirteenth birthday.

In this harrowing true crime exposition, award-winning journalist Kathryn Casey tracks these tragic cases, investigates the evidence, interviews the suspects, and pulls back the cloak of secrecy in search of elusive answers. Casey Weston Live

    in Military

Join us this week as we welcome country music singer songwriter, Casey Weston. Casey is recognized as one of the young stars whose combination of talent, personality and charisma helped launch the hit television show The Voice. While on the voice Casey was called “little Stevie Nicks” by pop music star Cee Lo Green; lauded by country music star Blake Shelton and told she was a musical “Bad Ass destined to be a star” by her coach and mentor Adam Levine. Casey has written, produced and released two albums; a self-titled release at the end of 2009 with 10 tracks and the second at the end of February of 2013; a 13 track album called Find the Moon. Both albums contain music & lyrics that Casey wrote or co-wrote. Both albums are available through iTunes, CD Baby and other popular digital & physical music distribution outlets. In 2015 Casey is releasing the single Fallin for a Lie, and then her next full album, Young Heart. Casey may be young but her work ethic and performance experience help her project a welcome balance of youthful energy and a road-tested touring musician and performer. We will talk to Casey about her upcoming schedule, get a behind the scenes look at her music, feature her latest songs, and ask her to share her message for the troops. Please be sure to visit Casey Weston at http://caseyweston.com/ and spread the word. Fans are welcome to call in and speak live with Casey during the show (718) 766-4193. If you would like to participate in the live chat during the show, you must sign up on the show site first and then log in during the show. And as always we will give shout outs to our deployed military listeners. Be sure to join us, Sunday 4/19/2015 at 4 PM EDT! Our message to the troops....WE do what we do, because YOU do what you do.
