Brought to you live from University of Redlands and the debate between Democrat Pete Aguilar and Republican Paul Chabot for the 31st California Congressional District. Aguilar has been endorsed by the Marijuana Policy Project - Chabot earns his living as a professional drug warrior.
This is an epic battle between a progressive Democrat and a right wing Republican in a seat that is being hotly contested by both parties. The debate starts at 7 p.m. but we will interview people coming to the debate.
In addition to live interviews with debate attendees, guests for the show include Jason Elassner from Yucca Valley and the initiative that is now being circulated in this small desert town to rescind the current ban on medical marijuana dispensaries and put in place an ordinance that will license and regulate a limited number. With an election for city council going on right now, the initiative has become a focal point in the election. It's not exactly tearing the town apart, but there are strong opinions on both sides.
OC NORML is sponsoring a 420 Bingo Party for the the Prisoner Project which is dedicated to helping people serving life sentences in prison for marijuana. That's what the 420 Bingo Party is going to do - raise that money for Paul. Learn what a 420 Bingo Party is all about and if you are in the neighborhood on Sat. Oct. 25, you can join on in.
You may have heard them called jezebels, mistresses, trollops, tramps, girlfriend #2, birds, rats, and side chicks. For as long as there have been unstable monogamous relationships there have been side chicks. Normally these women and in some cases men of ill-repute have been content playing their position and laying in the cut. With the glamorization of the side chick culture by shows like Love and Hip. As well as celebrity side chicks turned wives such as Gabrielle Union, Alicia Keys, and Angelina Jolie just to name a few. It makes one wonder when did it become cool for young sisters to aspire to be number #2 and in some case #3,4, or even 5. One also questions why is this derogatory sub cultural practice now being closely associated with women of African American descent?

What is our true potential to heal and awaken? Sara Chetkin has a powerful personal story to share about her own healing journey, as revealed in her critically acclaimed book The Healing Curve: A Catalyst to Consciousness.
Diagnosed with severe scoliosis at the age of fifteen, a curvature of the spine causing debilitating back pain which often leads to deformity and loss of mobility, Sara embarked on a life path of astonishing discovery, profound healing and dramatic spiritual awakening. Sara traveled the world in search of healing for body and soul, encountering gifted healers and shamans. Ultimately she realized the key to healing and awakening was releasing her own deceptions and illusions, embracing true humility and acceptance of her place in the Universe. Her life completely transformed, Sara finally saw through the blinding limitations of her own fears, unfolding a life of true Joy and vitality.
Now a Ro-Hun therapist and an ordained minister, Sara has a BA in Anthropology from Skidmore College and an MS in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the New England School of Acupuncture.
An interesting synchronicity, Frontier Beyond Fear host Susan Larison Danz was also told she had scoliosis at a young age, though thankfully a mild case.
"As thoughtful and thought-provoking as it is inspired and inspiring, Sara Chetkin's introspective commentary on her personal life experiences is a deftly written and thoroughly engaging story from beginning to end." - Julie Summers, Midwest Book Review

After a great weekend defending liberty, Shane Krauser, the host of Liberty Storm, is back in the saddle. Are you ready to move towards Concord? Shane covered the following issues:
1. We could learn a lesson or two from the founders and their response to the Intolerable Acts of 1774. What exactly was their response?
2. A case has arisen in Idaho, where city officials have told ordained ministers they have to celebrate same-sex weddings or face fines and jail time. What does the free exercise of religion even mean any more? What about the freedom of association or the freedom to contract?

The rash of killings of young black males by police officers has catapulted us into the dire need to discuss race relations in our communities. More specifically, the killing of Michael Brown has been the catalyst for several protests across the world...yes...THE WORLD...and is forcing us to examine all of our thoughts on who we are as a community, regardless of where that community is located. Siding in the Mike Brown case has practically split along the racial lines. Whether there is an indictment in this case or not, one side is not going to be satisfied with the outcome. Can we survive as a world community after Ferguson? Join us to discuss it and DON'T BITE YOUR TONGUE!!!
Once again Ebola seems to be the lead story in the news this week. Doctors Without Boarders have treated over 2000 cases in west affrica with only two healthcare workers becoming infected. Here in the US there is a very different story, one case, and two healthcare workers infected. There is someting wrong with this picture. How can doctors working in tents be more successful that our sophisticated isolation wards?
Ebola has now become a hot item for the midterm elections, some are claiming that it will cost the Dems the Senate. Ted Cruz was on tadys Sunday morning talk shows demanding that flights from the infected area be stopped. While this sounds sensible, it is not, to the best I can see there are no direct flights to the US from the region.
