On this episode of Carson's Corner, we will continue our analysis of the issues raised in Paul Street's new book, "They Rule: The 1% vs Democracy." We will discuss the dominance of the financial sector, and how we went from industrial to finance.
Yesterday, host Bob Carson wrote this statement for http://electionboycott.weebly.com/
In 2008, I supported President Obama (although I didn’t vote, and have never voted in an election) under the belief that President Obama was the alternative to the conditions we faced at that time. Shortly after his election, it became apparent that Obama was indeed a more effective evil in advancing the corporate agenda of the ruling class. He famously told Wall Street executives, the very people that melted our economy, “I am here to help.”
A wise man named Jacques Fresco once said, “Politicians are not elected to change things, they are elected to keep things the same.” Keeping things the same entails a furtherance of the corporate state, which makes life in America unbearable for those not in the ruling class. Since it is obvious you cannot work within the system for change, boycotting the elections is the most effective form of dissent. The very definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again.
Bob will break this down further.

On this MMA edition of Carson's Corner, we welcome back to the show Sam Hoger. He really needs no introduction to any fan of mixed martial arts. He's a first-generation Ultimate Fighter TV show star and he's a talented and intelligent person. He has two degrees from LSU in political science. He is also going to be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame. We'll talk to Sam about this, his career, current endeavors and much more on Carson's Corner.
In our next interview, we welcome Pete Moran, business partner-slash-associate of former MMA fighter Mike Swick. Our lawyers here at Carson's Corner have advised me to read the following before getting into this controversial interview:
"Our company, Carson's Corner, Inc., accepts no liability for the content of this interview, or for the consequences of any actions taken on the basis of the information provided. All viewpoints, facts, opinions, statements, averments, disclosures, burps, farts or throat-clearings are those of Mr. Moran and do not necessarily reflect the views of Carson's Corner Inc."
Catch all the action at 8pm est, on Friday, June 24th.
On tonight's edition of Carson's Corner, Bob discusses dog whistle politics, how race continues to direct our politics. Mostly, based on the work of Ian Haney Lopez, Bob discusses some key concepts discussed in the book.
Also, Bob will discuss some key concepts of socialism, as well as the Left Forum starting on 5-29-14 at John Jay College. Bob will be volunteering at the convention and broadcasting along side Pinko The Bear.
On this edition of Carson's Corner, we welcome Harry Cason of the Zeitgeist Movement to the show.
Here is some more info on Harry Cason and why he joined the movement: Harry Cason has been teaching political science at the The City University of New York - College of Staten Island for over twenty years, and has been involved in the anti-war and social rights movement even longer.
Cason is presently writing a book on: U.S. Relations with Spain under Francisco Franco, and Spain’s Eventual Liberalization.
Cason is a member-supporter of the Zeitgeist Movement, because of its holistic-systemic response to the problems we presently face in the world, as opposed to the piecemeal and tweaking response that is typically offered-up these days.
Bob and Harry will discuss the movement and how some of the fundamentals of the movement can benefit society as a whole/
On this very special edition of Carson's Corner, as part of The Commons Project Network dot com, we welcome back our old friend Frank Schaeffer to Carson's Corner. Frank's new book, WHY I AM AN ATHEIST WHO BELIEVES IN GOD: How to Create Beauty, Give Love and Find Peace, is already sending shockwaves throughout the media landscape. Below is a taste of what critics are saying:
“Frank Schaeffer always writes well, but Why I Am an Atheist Who Believes in God is extraordinary. Somewhere between the sterile, absolute, and empty formulae of reductionist, totalitarian science and the earnest, hostile, excessively certain make-believe of religious fundamentalism, there is a beautiful place. There is room in this place for honesty. For tenderness. For fury. For wonder. For hope. For mistakes. For paradox. For grace. This book is written from that in-between place. It will help you get there too, if you're interested in finding it.”—Brian D. McLaren author/speaker/activist
“A delight and charmer of a read—deft insights, burnished gold probes, arrow hit bull’s-eye again and again.” —Ron Dart (Thomas Merton Society of Canada)
Afterwards, Bob will discuss some concepts from the latest book he read, The Case for Socialism by Alan Maas.
On this MMA version of Carson's Corner, Bob speaks with Deividas Taurosevicius about his career. Deividas is one of the toughest fighters in the sport today who has fought wars in many promotions and beaten top-notch fighters, including current Bantamweight World Series of Fighting of Champion, Marlon Morase. With a very impressive 17-5 record, Deividas looks to continue his MMA career. Hear the live interview at 9pm
The progressive warrior, Bob Carson, is back with another edition of Carson's Corner in conjunction with the Commons Project Network. Baseball great, Hank Aaron, recently compared the Tea Party to the KKK. Aaron's comments have empirical backing, as Paul Street and Anthony Diamaggio have taken an empirical look into the Tea Party. Bob will discuss this, plus, The Case For Socialism by Alan Maas gives a refreshing critique of capitalism and defense of socialism.
In addition, Congress refuses to extend long-term unemployment benefits. What does this say about our democracy?
Karen Wolfe Churgin walked her dogs on April 18, 1990, on her remote wooded property on Chebacco Road. The veterinarian spotted a white sphere obstructing a drainage ditch. When she reached to dislodge it, she reeled back in horror. She immediately called the police. “I saw something in the woods that looked like a punched-in volleyball,” Karen told the Beverly Times on April 25, 1990. “I looked closer and it was a human skull. It had suture-like zigzagged lines. Those are unique to human skulls.” Officer Hatfeld was the first to respond, and the initial conclusion determined the discovery was, indeed, a human skull. Hamilton Police Chief Walter Cullen arrived at the scene next and photographed the find. The Massachusetts State Police Crime Prevention and Control Unit, CPAC, dispatched Cpl. Dennis Marks to take charge of the crime scene. Local police sent the skull and a nearby black boot to Hunt Memorial Hospital to examine, but nothing else surfaced in the initial cursory search of the surrounding area. Notices went out to departments to assist the resident force, and names poured in to compare the cranium to known missing persons. Joan Webster’s name appeared on the list, but the resting spot was more than thirty miles from the long-speculated crime scene at Pier 7 in Boston. “Of course, it’s being checked out, but the location doesn’t seem to correlate. Circumstances pointed to her being taken out in a boat and dumped at sea. MOMMY'S A MOLE-Unraveling The Joan Webster Murder and Other Secrets in a CIA Family-Eve Carson
