Do Black Lives Really Matter Pt.2: Message To The Black Man

    in Spirituality

So...I ruffled some feathers with the last talk.  Why?  Because we still eat with a bib on.  We still eat what we want but spit most of it right back out  instead of finding value in the words of wisdom that were spoken, we take offense as usual.  Good.  At least now I have your attention.  Get up, get off of your asses and make something happen.  The blame game is an old one and its time to start carrying ourselves in a manner that is respected IF what we truly crave is respect.  What we need now from the black male is to come to the water, become clean...bring back a sense of normalcy to our lives...

    THE POWER OF YOUR CHOICE

    in Prayer

The most life-changing decision we can make is when we decide to take up our cross and come after HIM.

When we accept that challenge, carrying our cross becomes a practical, daily reality. Each of us

who desires to personally know and serve the LORD must make that decision. Once this is done our present

relationship to the LORD, as well as our eternal position in the ages to come, will be greatly affected. Many do

not realize or take seriously the awesome value of all that our LORD will make available to us as a result of the

"willing" submission of our lives to HIS LORDSHIP. Join us forn live prayer at 6:00 AM, Mon,-Fri. Dial 714.459.3963.

Affirmations for Success with Author Michelle Roberts

    in Motivation

Join Ms. Reason as she speaks with Author Michelle Roberts. Michelle A. Roberts, is a professional speaker & published Author she specializes in training and encouraging Women that they are over-comers, and can comeback from any challenge. Michelle A. Roberts of Atlanta, Georgia, is a fighter and a winner. She describes her impressive life change in this way: “After being married for 19 years, I finally awakened to the realization that my drug-addicted husband was not going to change. I had remained in the marriage—for too long—largely for two reasons. One was because I thought no one would want a fat girl with three babies. The other, deeper reason was because I was not raised with my father and always longed for that relationship, so I clung to the hope that my husband would be the man who would fill that void. He did not. In fact, he put our children and me through the maddening frustrations and disappointments that come with sharing life with an addict. I became so depressed I began carrying 268 pounds on a five-foot frame. Finally, however, I took charge of my life. I had life-altering surgery, gastric bypass, and lost more than 110 pounds. I got a divorce, began a lifestyle of fitness, went back to school, and obtained bachelors, masters and is currently a Doctoral Candidate. I opened several businesses and authored several books. Yes, the years of schooling and attitude change were hard. Yes, I cried. Yes, I complained sometimes. But whenever I felt on the verge of giving up, I had only to look at my three children, and a fight for dear life would arise in me.”

    Blessed Osanna Andreasi of Mantua

    in Religion

Rebroadcast of the long running radio program, "The Ave Maria Hour", a presentation of the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement. www.AtonementFriars.org

The daughter of Italian nobles Nicolaus and Agnes, she is reported to have had her first mystical experience at the age of five: a vision of the Trinity, the nine choirs of angels, and Jesus as a child her own age, carrying His Cross.

Feeling called to the religious life, Osanna rejected an arranged marriage and became a Dominican tertiary at the age of 17; however, she waited 37 years to complete her vows so she could care for her brothers and sisters after the death of her parents.

At the age of eighteen she experienced mystical espousal to Jesus -- like St. Catherine of Siena, she had a vision in which Our Blessed Mother made her a bride of Christ, placing a ring on her finger.

When she was thirty she received the stigmata on her head, then her side, and finally on her feet. In her case, the stigmata do not seem to have bled, but simply to have appeared as red, intensely painful swellings. She kept them hidden from everyone except her servants, but at times the pain in her feet was so great that she was unable to walk. For years also, like St. Catherine, she lived on almost no food at all.

Her reputation for sanctity spread because of her works of charity and her constant prayer, which sometimes caused her to fall into ecstasy at Mass. Consequently, people begin to visit her for spiritual counsel and report that she sometimes proved a true prophet about their affairs. Osanna assisted the poor and the sick, served as spiritual director to many, and spent much of her family’s considerable fortune to help the unfortunate.

Osanna died in 1505 and was beatified on November 24, 1694 by Pope Leo X and Pope Innocent XII.

BLINDED BY THE LIGHT: RIDING THE WAVE OF OPTIMISM

    in Lifestyle

How we analyze the process of freemasonry depends on whether we are approaching our work with the enthusiasm and positivism of our entered apprentices or with cynicism.

The start of freemasonry owes much to the renaissance when the corruption of the church and secular war brought it into disrepute.  Still the questions did not stop but the rebirth- renaissance sought out a re-examination of pre-Christian thinking; a study of ancient Egypt and ancient Greece.   The rebirth of those ideas,  or what we call the renaissance redefined the relationship between God and man. No longer was the church in control interpreting and dictating the nature of that relationship with the divine.  Mankind was no long corrupt or broken as the Garden of Eden described. The translation of the Egyptian Book of Thoth into Latin was accepted without challenge, to be the lost knowledge restored. No longer subservient, renaissance man had responsible for carrying out duties.  As God created beauty so it was the responsibility of mankind to create an experience based on aesthetics and science.

More than 2000 years after it was thought to have vanished, the legend of the book of Thoth, lead to study of the Tarrot.
