Ripped out of the headlines Jury Finds Suspect Guilty Of Armed Robbery.
Douglas County District Attorney David McDade announced today that his office successfully prosecuted Kevin Upkins, a 29 year old Fulton County man, after a jury found him guilty of armed robbery this week. The charges stemmed from a May 2, 2008 incident at Security Finance on Fairburn Road.

When Upkins grabbed the cash out of a drawer in the business, he also picked up several checks that had been placed on top of the larger bills.
Within minutes of the robbery, Sergeant Todd Garner of the Douglasville Police Department responded to the scene and recovered three checks that Upkins had dropped on the floor of the business. Upkins was later identified through his fingerprints located on two of these checks. His fingerprints were on file from previous felony arrests in Atlanta, But is that what really happen? What Color Is Monday?
How Autism Changed One Family For The Better
In this moving memoir, What Color Is Monday?: How Autism Changed One Family For The Better (Feb, 2015), Carrie Cariello invites us to take a peek into exactly what it takes to get through each day juggling the needs of her whole family. Through hilarious mishaps, honest insights, and heartfelt letters addressed to her children, she shows us the beauty and wonder of raising a child who views the world through a different lens, and how ultimately autism changed her family for the better.
As a busy mom of five kids, four sons and one daughter, she chronicles family adventures and experiences; most of which we can all readily relate to. Her words so aptly describe the chaos of life within a big family, along with the quiet moments that seem so ordinary but are often extraordinary. She’s honest and funny, sometimes emotional, but always noticing the little things that often get overlooked in the course of a whirlwind of a day; and by the way, one of her sons, Jack, has autism.
Autism may be part of their daily lives, but it doesn’t define life within the Cariello family. The book’s title references a conversation Cariello had with her son Jack, who asked one day what color she saw for Monday. Until then, she had no idea that he saw all days as colors, and in retelling the story she said, “On a seemingly ordinary day, Jack once again granted me the privilege to take a tiny peek inside his fascinating mind.”
