Remembering Our Stories On Flag Day w/Carole Copeland Thomas

    in Business

For some, it's Flag Day, a day to remember the rich history of the American flag.

For others, it's just another work day.

For me, its a day like no other in my entire life.  It's the day my only son was killed in a single occupant car accident on June 14, 1997.

This is Flag Day -- marking the date in 1777 when John Adams proposed the stars and stripes as the official flag of the United States.  Making flags, banners, and pennants is a nearly $5 billion annual business in the U.S.

Today we'll listen to the Census Bureau's profile on the American Flag. Then we'll turn our spotlight on three remarkable  "slice of life" stories from  StoryCorp, the national organization archiving real stories about real people around the United States.  One story details the transference of anger, pain and suffering into good when a father is murdered.  Another story describes the personal partnership of a couple in the classroom. The third story is an unusual love story that transcends the stereotypes.

And then I will share some special stories of my late son, his twin sister and his older sister, and how the bonds of family love and connection even transcend death.

This show is dedicated to the memory of my late son, Mickarl D. Thomas, Jr.

The Thomas Loop Radio Show - Christopher Joel on AM-1440 WJJL 11/26/2014

    in Music

Christopher Joel will be "In" The Thomas Loop Radio Show on WJJL-1440AM Niagara Falls/Buffalo, NY - a podcast will soon follow the live broadcast at around 1pm on 11/26 - on http://www.blogtalkradio.com/thomaslooptm-

Here is Chris's bio from his home page at www.christopherjoel.net - I've been performing throughout Western New York for over 3-1/2 years with solo and various musical projects.  Aside from my solo acoustic shows, I currently perform with my acoustic duo 'THE CT SCAN' (Check out The CT Scan section here on my website) as well as playing drums in a new project called "007".

With my acoustic shows, I stay true to my motto "acoustic music...the way it's meant to be heard".  You won't hear any extra music or noises unless it's me making them.  In a recent video from one of my performances (in the multimedia section) you will hear someone say "Now that's a one man band".  You also won't see a laptop or a music stand in front of me looking down at them; I learn words and music.  As an entertainer, I always give 110% at every performance.  I thrive on audience participation/interaction and they are the reason I get to do what I love doing.

Come to a show and you'll see...seeing is believing...
