Finding your way to a new job or career can be exhilarating at best, imagining boundless possibilities. At worst, it can be daunting, stressful, and taxing to one's confidence and overall health. If you've been looking for a job, you'll know that at any stage of the search, you can be met with challenges, stunted confidence, and dissatisfaction. Whether you are seeking a promotion, reentering the workforce, or trying to figure out what you "want to be when you grow up", there is a litany of "practical" tasks- crafting a targeted, results-based resume; tailoring cover letters; clicking "submit" on those applications. In addition to that, you may be discovering answers to questions such as "what career is right for me?", "what companies are in line with my values?", and "how do I maximize work/life balance?" We will tackle some of these questions on the show.
During this inaugural show, you will meet Victoria Crispo, a career coach at Career Services USA who is known for her vivacious and nurturing style and confidence-building goods for job seekers and career changers. If you are a dynamic and creative job seeker wanting to take control of your job search and remove fear, uncertainty, and other blocks to career success, this is the show for you! Victoria will outline what the show's mission and purpose during today's episode. The series will focus on job search, career exploration, job application strategies, resume/cover letter writing, interviewing, confidence building, exploring activities "in the meantime", and finding fulfillment in your professional and personal life!

#EmbraceTheSlash: Succeeding professionally at this, that AND the other
Some of us pursue several professions simultaneously. We have a 'side gig' or hobby that we devote time and energy to - aside from our primary occupation.
You've met them. The history teacher who plays in a band. The executive/avid scuba diver. The techie by day/world traveler/pianist. This show is about "embracing the slash". We were inspired by this article by Jessica Stillman. http://tinyurl.com/m8w32f8 … and this one by Kate Hamill http://tinyurl.com/n4azj6a
Trina and Tamarra are both career coaches who also have 9-5 jobs. We want to dig into this & encourage others with multiple interests to join this robust discussion. How would you describe yourself using slashes? Here are ours:
Trina: career coach/radio host/ fundraiser/writer/"pink warrior" (breast cancer awareness advocate) (trinaramsey.com)
Tamarra: Career coach/radio host/mentor & motivational speaker/active Sorority member (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Do you have multiple roles? Join the conversation! #EmbraceTheSlash
"Because I no longer act ashamed of my “/”, people are genuinely interested – and often even impressed..." Kate Hamill

Tara now helps her clients understand that success lies not in any one person’s charisma, or any one organization’s financial backing, but in the ability of critical team members to articulate the vision, build/manage the necessary infrastructure, problem-solve with courage and quickness, and effectively rally the troops to the cause.
