Sonali Shivlani is the Executive Director of CAPPA India and also the Director of the Pregnancy Fitness Educator Program for CAPPA International. In her ten years of practice, worked with more than 15000 pregnant families. She is the author of the Super Moms Recipe Book. She has conceptualized and featured on two DVD titles - Prenatal Workouts and Postnatal Workouts in association with Times Group in India. She is on the expert panel of Mother and Baby, a leading magazine in this genre. She is also on the panel for Baby Center in India and besides working on "Indianising" the content she also heads the Online ante-natal classes on the portal.

Let's get to know Julie Brill, she is one of our wonderful CAPPA Faculty members. She trains Childbirth Educators and shares her insight and wisdom on this subject (and more) with our listeners.
Julie Brill, CCCE, CLD owns and manages WellPregnancy in Bedford, Massachusetts. She has been teaching childbirth classes and attending births since 1992, and mentoring new birth professionals throughout New England as a member of the CAPPA Faculty since 2003. Julie is honored to have taught thousands of childbirth education students in a variety of settings and hundreds of CAPPA birth professionals. She feels she has the best job in the world, and is lucky to have found her profession and her calling.
Julie graduated from Tufts University with a degree in Sociology and Women’s Studies and completed the Massachusetts Midwifery Alliance Apprenticeship Course. She is certified to present Peggy Huddleston’s Prepare for Cesarean Birth, Heal Faster workshops. She is also a La Leche League Leader and the mother of two homeschooled teenage daughters.
Julie finds that the women who are drawn to doula and childbirth educator work are an amazing group and she feels blessed to be able to mentor, learn from, and work with them. Doulas’ desire to support women during the childbearing year and their choice to work unknown hours at unscheduled times is the inspiration for Round the Circle: A Doula Anthology, her first book, which is available for pre-order at ibreastfeeding.com. Our guest today is Amanda Marshall, the owner of Birth Blessing Doula Services in Colorado. She is a member of the CAPPA (Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association) Postpartum Doula Faculty. We will get to know Amanda and discuss the role of a postpartum doula, common misconceptions about postpartum doulas, and why someone might want to hire a postpartum doula. Amanda Marshall also shares her experiences supporting breastfeeding mothers. Kimberly Bepler joins CAPPA Radio for a thoughtful conversation about healing after a cesarean section and creating a plan for the possibilty of birthing this way. Kimberly is the owner and founder of ABC Doula Service and also trains doulas both in Portland and all around the Northwest.
She has worked extensively with families doing doula and lactation support for the past 14 years. She is a Certified Postpartum Doula and CAPPA Faculy Postpartum Doula Trainer, a Certified Postnatal Educator and a Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).
Kimberly has been working with postpartum families since she had an infant of her own, and has a passion for newborns and their families.
Since founding ABC Doula in 2001 she has seen the company grow to serve over 1200 families, and loves the collaboration of the team that has come together. Kimberly is the mother to two lively school-aged kids, and enjoys the collaboration at home with her husband Mark, who supports ABC as the Accounts and Website Manager.

Janice Banther, joins CAPPA Radio to discuss doulas and childbirth educators working with pregnant women who are in jail or prison.
Janice Bather is a nationally recognized leader in childbirth education and labor doula programs including women in crises. Besides providing education and doula support for people in the community, she established programs to provide services for homeless, addicted and incarcerated mothers.
Since 1981 she has been a birth doula at over 600 births and trained thousands of women and their partners in childbirth classes. She is a member of the CAPPA Faculty and acts as a Senior Advisor for CAPPA.
She has trained dozens of doulas and childbirth professionals across the United States on how to support female prisoners who are giving birth. Janice is the founder and is Executive Director of two nonprofit agencies; For The Love Of Birth in 1991 and Birth Behind Bars in 2001.

Before founding Cheaha Women’s in Alabama, Dr. Johannson trained and practiced at Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia’s busiest obstetrical hospital for 11 years.
In addition to offering many surgical and medical techniques, Dr. Johannson views partnering and supporting women in health, pregnancy, and disease as fundamental to his practice. He strongly emphasizes healthy lifestyles and preventive care. He sees pregnancy as a normal physiological process, is supportive of low-intervention in low-risk pregnancy, and is a strong advocate of breastfeeding as an important healthcare decision. His other professional interests include external cephalic version, vaginal delivery of twins, fibroids, and general gynecology.
Dr. Johannson is a graduate of Talladega College and the University of Michigan Medical School. He is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. Dr. Johannson is married and has four children. He and his wife are enjoying the area and has found a church home in Grace Fellowship.

Margi Deneau-Saxton joins CAPPA Radio to share her wisdom and experience about Infant Massage. Her tips, and ideas will give you insight into the useful tool of infant massage with regards to bonding, breastfeeding, and nurturing touch.
Margi Deneau-Saxton, RN, CCCE, CLC, CPD/T (CAPPA) 45 years experience in maternal-infant care. In 1996, she studied infant massage and began incorporating it into her clinical nursing practice. Eventually, she became a trainer of infant Margi is also a lactation counselor and a childbirth educator. In 2004, she founded MotherNurture Pregnancy and Postpartum Professionals, collaborating with two other health care professionals, a massage therapist and a lactation consultant with the vision that “women who are nurtured are better able to nurture others." They continue to provide educational opportunities and a variety of services within the greater Augusta, GA, area. Margi enjoys a marriage that spans some 47 years and has brought to Margi what she deems her most fulfilling experiences...mothering six and now, a grandmother to 14.
