Ryan Guay, the mind behind Street Pharmacy, is set to drop his next full-length, Pharmanomics, in early January 2015. The album takes influence from the worlds of reggae, rock, ska, and early hip hop and features collaborations with a cool list of producers, including ex-illScarlett members Johnny Doherty and Will Marr, Gavin Brown (Billy Talent, Metric), and Adam Tune (Keys N Krates).
As for Trevor Guthrie, after first coming into the industry with soulDecision in the mid-'90s, the well-known songwriter and performer has seen his solo career take off since 2013, after he was featured on Armin van Buuren's track "This Is What It Feels Like" and Markus Schulz's "Until It's Gone." Mike catches up with Trevor about his current projects and what's in store for the new year.

SPECIAL TOPIC Night - "For Our Kids" - Deborah Maddison, and Tracy Baxter, Canadian activists from British Columbia, will lead this evening's discussion about the Rights of Children and Families in North America. They'll present the topic "Mass 'Murder' by Family Court." Joining them will be advocates Anthony Brasher, Vincent Shiele and Vernon Beck to discuss the tragedies and failures of the Family Court System. The epidemic of systemically being abused by family courts has caused many injured individuals to take their own lives, or sometimes the lives of others. In fact, thousands are attempting (or succeeding) at taking their own lives in desperation every year. As a result of the system's failures, an incredible 79% of people involved in the Family Court System report experiencing some form of health injury, whether physical, mental and / or emotional. We will be discussing some of the horrific cases of suicides and murder-suicides that come out of our structurally violent family court system, and how, at so many levels, these tragedies could have been prevented. We will also hear from special guest Ashlee White Blandford, daughter of Darin White, from Prince George, British Columbia. His suicide in March of 2000 was a huge eye-opener to many, highlighting the brutalizing effects of our Family Court System. ~~ Every two weeks a new THEME will be presented in this series, with frequent special guests speaking from their own experience. ~~ Please see our web page at: www.NAASCA.org/ForOurKids or write to: email@example.com

It’s hard to find an uplifting angle on the events in Ferguson. Conservatives have drawn many familiar morals: that the media is ravenous for manufactured controversy, and will shamelessly exploit any tragedy to that end; that the Left will callously seize any opportunity to stoke racial tensions for political gain; that regrettable numbers of people prefer the satisfaction of rioting to the hard work of self-examination and community improvement.
Here is the point, in a nutshell. Minorities and impoverished Americans feel screwed by the system. They feel like pawns in the hands of a massive, incomprehensible, frighteningly invasive, and callously unfeeling bureaucratic system. This, surely, is something conservatives can understand. Middle-class conservatives are angry and frustrated because they feel screwed by “the system.” Guess what? The angry residents of Ferguson (and their sympathizers) feel the same way. We may have more common ground than we realize.
