Today's honest and truthful discussion will be one based on autheniticity and spontaneity. All of us participating in the experience of this show are seeking to become more balanced, expanded, spiritually mature and Divine Beings, but that noes not mean we do not ever feel defeated. I entitled this show The Storm Before the Calm because no matter how life looks, we can always recenter, regroup, refocus and and re-emerge from the storm of life to arrive into the calm, which is our natural state of being. When we are internally calm, the outside storm is one that we watch from the warmth of our home, through the window of observation and in gratitude for our peace. This show will illustrate through direct experince how we can move without the storm and within our calm. You won't want to miss this!

Heidi Thompson grew up in Canada and moved to Europe to study art and photography. After 8 years of formal training, she returned to Canada and worked as a professional photographer, painter, and publisher. Heidi later returned to university and earned her B.C. professional teaching certificate. Heidi's interest in meditation led her to attending a 10-day Vipassana retreat where she learned breath awareness. She has practiced breath awareness for over 30 years. Interested in helping children, Heidi worked as a children’s counselor at breath awareness courses in the USA and Canada. In 1996, Heidi pioneered a program called Mindmastery and was the first to teach breath awareness to children in public schools.
Mindmastery attracted media attention was featured on CBC television. Heidi received requests from parents, teachers, therapists, and childcare professionals wanting to know how to help children increase focus and reduce stress. In response, Thompson compiled her program’s instructions, teaching strategies, and stories into a practical “how to” manual that evolved into her recently published book, Calm Focus Joy: The Power of Breath Awareness - A Practical Guide for Adults and Children. Calm Focus Joy is available for purchase on Heidi Thompson’s website: www.calmfocusjoy.com or through Barnes & Noble, Amazon, and can be ordered through any bookstore.

As we become increasingly dependent on technology to make our lives easier, we lose the ease and find ourselves angst, overwhelmed and unaware.
There is a quiet revolution going on wherein people are choosing to live "handmade" lives. Artisans and everyday crafters are finding a renewed satisfaction in making something with their own hands. The physical and mental benefits in handwork bring about contemplation, serenity and mindfulness.
Using a potpourri approach, Maggie Oman Shannon demonstrates that you can "craft the craziness" away for calm, clarity, comfort, contemplation, connection wtih others and/or spirit to reflect and commune within and with the God of your understanding.
Creativity is a spiritual journey. By immersing ourselves in a creative activity, we can quiet those voices around and in us and enter into the stillness that characterizes prayer and the "house of love". Whether cooking, sewing, knitting, gardening or scrapbooking, your intention to create space to do so is all that's needed and the beneftis are as active as sitting in a church monastery.
Whether you call yourself an artist or craftperson, or neither, we are all creative and through art- and craft-making, we can commune with the soul and the Divine. From the ingredients of everyday life we can find the tools to create a spiritual practice
In this short 15 minute episode, Nicola Taggart, Work/Life Blend Strategist, Speaker and Coach, talks about an important Calm the Chaos topic that can help bring more fun and freedom into your crazy and chaotic life.
It may seem counter-intuitive, but the more structure you create around the most chaotic, stressful times and areas of your life, the better you will will feel.
Nicola shares examples and stories of how others have transformed some of their most frustrating and no-fun times into low-stress and enjoyable times.
