Welcome Church! This week we are reading Romans Chapter 8.
So Jesus has come, so we're not slaves to the law. Huzzah! Paul explains, Christians live under "the law of the Spirit." This is kind of like the laws of the Torah, but without worrying about following all 613 individual rules. Circumcision, for example, is optional (which is good news for male converts). In Jesus, God did what the law couldn't—he punched sin in the face and reunited the world with him again. Nice work, God. Non-believers don't share in this, though. They just walk around like ordinary, puny humans, thinking of ordinary, puny things. They can't possibly be thinking of God or following his laws because they don't believe in Jesus. But believers have lives and hearts that are filled with the spirit of God. And they're going to be best buds with God forever because of it. Believers have been adopted into God's family. They're his sons and daughters and he would totally do anything for them. Sure, it's true, Paul says, people are suffering. But all that's fine. It's gonna work out. Really. Plus, later, the rewards are going to far outweigh all the bad stuff everyone has been going through. Every part of creation is waiting for God. Soon, everyone and everything is going to be set free from sin and death and evil. It's all going to be awesome-sauce. And the people who are tight with God now—well, things are gonna work out for them big time, Paul tells us. Seriously, God sent his son to die for us. Don't you think he'll help us with all the other stuff we're going through? The Big Guy always has your back. It doesn't matter if Christians are arrested or persecuted or condemned or even killed—nothing is going to separate them from the love of God.

An Investigation into The New Testament Bible
The Story of Jesus
From 3 perspectives
* The Biblical world viiew
* The Academic/Scholastic
* The Urantia Book
Notwithstanding the favorable reception of Jesus and his teachings by the common people, the religious leaders at Jerusalem became increasingly alarmed and antagonistic. The Pharisees had formulated a systematic and dogmatic theology.
Jesus was a teacher who taught as the occasion served; he was not a systematic teacher. Jesus taught not so much from the law as from life, by parables.
(And when he employed a parable for illustrating his message, he designed to utilize just one feature of the story for that purpose. Many wrong ideas concerning the teachings of Jesus may be secured by attempting to make allegories out of his parables.)

GATES: The gates of an ancient city served as much more than entry points. Within the gates, elements of cultural influence ~ business/commerce, politics, religion, art, philosophy, law-blended together to create the unique identity of that city. Where godly people had influence in the gates. God was recognized in the city. It's time for kingdom citizens and believers (Christians) to take back the gates of the city for the KINGDOM of God!

9 am Sunday morning Divine Service for 3/1/15. Traditional liturgy and law gospel sermon. Pastor Houser’s sermon. Gospel reading Mark 8:27-38. Adam and Eve and original sin .We are all sinners and are joined with the enemy. It’s our nature and our condition without Christ. There’s no other way out from the death sentence even though false prophets try to tell us otherwise. However we are saved only by God’s grace. We are sanctified in Christ though the waters of Holy Baptism and the Holy Spirit opens our hearts. By faith we are reckoned as righteous and have a two way covenant with God.
